Internet Mufti's are the creation of liars who go round telling real Ulama and laypeople that so on so is a Mufti.

majlis website really banned on MS?

If I may I'd like to say something regarding those words. I felt while reading the article that "moron internet muftis" is referring to laypersons like us giving our opinions on shar'ee matters without adequate knowledge and not our respected Mufti Faruq sahib (Hafizahullah) as someone mentioned or other respectable ulama.....and also no matter what the Majlis Ulama are saying we (the laypersons) should not use derogatory terms for them

If the site has been banned then i would like to say in protest that ok, yes MS has had it bad from the majlis as has other forums but must we overlook all the other good they have done for the haqq to be established? Despite the strong and often harsh method used, we have to admit it is on the haqq.

Again only my opinion but banning is a bit too strong.....and obviously it is the shura of MS who has the final say but as members we too should be able to voice our opinions

As far as I'm concerned, when I hear Internet Mufti, names like Mufti Ebrahim Desai, Mufti Muhammad Ibn Adam, Mufti Abdur Rahman etc comes to mind who share their works and services on the Internet.

Yes Alhamdulillah for this statement:

However what I meant was stating our opinions as in my own case on the "women are different" thread. My reply there was how I have understood the situation from various authentic sources. I didnt back it up with any actual proofs right? Unfortunately this is so on most topics especially where arguments occur. Most of us make statements according to how each of us has understood it though i know a few knowledgeable members do state their proofs as well

The other thing the article mentioned was the interaction between genders. I know it is kept minimal however strictly speaking there is some unnecessary interaction (On my part as well). I know after the fatwa on SF many of us sisters did cut down posting on the general forum and kept ourselves to the sisters section and yesterday too it really made me think....Alhamdulilah for reminders! And may Allah ta'ala grant us correct understanding and remain firm

I agree with brother abu mohammad though I didnt fully read the other thread.

Brother Muadh: My understanding (or opinion) is exactly what it will be - an opinion - and this is what I'm saying. My understanding will be based on literature i've read and speeches I've heard - different according to which scholars one listens to.

There are a lot of fatwas on how men and women should not be talking to each other unless its a necessity (and even in neccessity it should be kept minimal without alluring tones or chitchat and we all know there is ample evidence for this. So interaction online would fall under the same category no? We've seen how other forums which are not monitored properly are like....

ok let me give an example: the thread in the SF section where everyone was trying to guess who dr76 sahib was. Did we not get a ticking off there? That was purely fun type of interaction right? Another example: the picture you posted on the other thread, now that was funny and i was very tempted to add a rejoinder to do with female leadership in Islam (but didnt have time)... the odd lol or : ) etc. etc.

Basically i'm admitting i do it at times as its funny and i have to say I started because of my advanced age with a lot of people referring to me as khala.......but thats no excuse and the these fatwas made me think and i definitely dont want to be the "dumb aunt" ) :

by the way...ya maybe you're right about keeping quiet but i felt the need to say how i saw it
