After Aadam AS's soul was taken the angels, together with the children went to a place where they took their tools and dug a hole and put Aadam AS in it and buried him. They then turned to the children and said, "This is the way you will bury your dead." And up to today that is the method adopted by Islam to bury the dead. We leave a bit of air between the body and the wooden planks which are placed on top. I was told that this oxygen allows the body to decompose properly, unlike bodies in mass graves where the sand is directly on the body, the bodies do not decompose properly. Subhaanallah
Where was Aadam AS buried? It is said he was buried in Sri Lanka or at a mountain in Makkah known as Jabal Abi Qubais. Allah knows best!

Sayyiduna Ubay ibn Ka’b (radiyallahu ‘anhu) narrates that Nabi (sallallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“Adam was hairy and tall, of wheatish complexion, having curly hair as on a high palm-tree…”

Imam ‘Abdur Razzaq As San’ani (rahimahullah) has recorded this narration with a chain that is noncontinuous (munqati’).
(Musannaf ‘Abdur Razzaq, Hadith: 6082)
Imam Hakim (rahimahullah) has also recorded this Hadith with slight variation in the wording. He has declared the Hadith as authentic and Hafiz Dhahabi (rahimahullah) concurs.
That is very strange, because I can't see it in the quote, but when I look back to the post, I can see it. Then if I go into editing of the post, those words aren't there. Very strange indeed.
