As-salam-alaykum:

Those of us involved in the work of dawah and tabligh are human, and we are weak, and we make mistakes (and sometimes we make COLOSSAL mistakes). May Allah swt shower his mercy on the Ulema and Mashaikh for pointing out our shortcomings so that we may rectify them.

I am seriously looking at new alternative to Tabligh, which can give same or better results:
with the following conditions:

1. Only Quran and Saheeh hadith shall be used.
2. What is grade of the new group, fardh-e-ayn to bida'h hasna.
3. What rewards can be expected from this group; for spending time, energy, wealth, desires, physical sacrifices, mental sacrifices etc. Please quote only saheeh hadeeth or Quran.
4. How the new group motivates brothers to join and move along there group for the above actions.
5. Indian subcontinent live in villages, 75% population is rural, that too in remote villages. What benefits the new group will get if they offer sacrifices and reach them.
6. African poor countries with no water, no electricity, tin sheet roofs in summer, no food items. How will the new group motivate their members to visit and stay in these places for 5 months/1 year, sometimes in Ramadhan.

Till this new alternate group takes over from TJ, I shall continue to work with TJ and believe what their ulema say and offer sacrifices with them.

Whatever is being discussed in this thread is based on members' experiences in their luxurious neighborhood.

We do taqleed.

Many senior Ulema from past and present have replied to objections raised here. So TJs continue to follow these senior ulema. Br Sulaiman and a guest presented such opinions, but it surprises me that these opinions are ignored and never discussed.

One has the right to have difference of opinion. But please don't try push it on TJ. If continues, TJ seniors use a single word "Ignore". Kindly don't re-invent the wheel like the gair muqallids.

Bloodshed is not the objective of qitaal, the real objective is promoting deen. And qital with weapon is required where there are road blocks which can't be removed without use of weapons.
Hence; First, one is invited towards deen, if accepted, no need of weapons. Second option for Jiziyah. When all options are exhausted then qitaal, the objective here is removing the blockades.

But the real objective is promoting deen.

The rewards and thawab for end result or ultimate goal are much higher than for one gets for waseela (the efforts towards the goal) and it is logical.

Q: Is offering dawah towards salah in tablighi jamath is jehhaad?

Ans: Jehhhaad is to offer our efforts and sacrifices for deen. There are different types, one among them is the effort of tabligh jamaath.

Taken From Urdu "Tablighi jamath mufti Mahmood Hasan Gangohi RA ke fatawah ki Roshni mein"

Note: One has the right to disagree with this. But we TJs are satisfied with this.

"Alhumdulliah, in tabligh, there are always brothers making nusrat and providing food and sleeping place. In the case of high profile jamaats, there is better food and special sleeping arrangements. "

These people are leaving their homes, business for the cause of deen. Isnt it a mujahida?
People going out in jamaat with their bedsheet, cooking set; they wont call and ask for nusrat before leaving for khurooj. Allah is providing nusrat for the Jamaat; Jamaat is not doing pre bookings.

Wow so many red herrings, brother no one has disagreed with taqleed, again why try to bring up the salafi/ahlul hadeeth movement (absolutely nothing to di with this) i mentioned thus previously, thus is a blatant diversion and your actually causing division by trying to nake it a tablighi vs salafi issue. Im tablighi myself so dont try it?? Again no one is disputing tabligh is great, and no one saud the objective of qitla is bloodshed. Stick to the topic!! Im not even going to bother ti reply ti anymore red herrings. Seriously the hizbiyya is worse than the madkhalis

What was said earlier is that the gair muqallids re invent the wheel, don't agree with Imams and their followers. When senior ulema are quoted here, members ignore their sayings and fatawah. So it was said that we believe in taqleed and we follow those senior ulema.

Those are not my words, I have translated what Mufti Mahmood al Hasan Gangohi RA has said

Members who disagree with tabligh or its principles are creating groups. Otherwise tablighis are busy with their noble work.

Sorry to break it to the brother who wants to start his own tabligh jamaat, but your deluded. Tabligh jamaat has been going for almost 100 years, its in every country, its very organised, and the results are uncomparable in recent history, so what will you bring which us better?? And tabligh act according ti quran and sunnah, they DO go to these unknown places and some even settle there (mashaAllah the brothers from SA are very firm) and also take out jamaats from thise localities so when they leave the locals can continue with the effort.
The issue of this thread was the over exaggeration of some

The best food offered by us to visiting jamath is the least food the sathees consume in their homes. The stinky toilets, no toilet paper, dirty water etc.

Special sleeping arrangements? with mosquitoes, rodents, lizards, polluted air, noise pollution.

One masturat jamaat went to Chad, ladies stayed in a single tin sheet roof house for full month, yes full month. All of them had their air conditioned residences. Is this luxuary sleeping arrangements.

I shall lock the thread on this statement. Jzk Abc123. You made the point in the end.

Its about the over exaggeration of laypeople when they become the spokes people of a method that has its basis from Quran and Sunnah.

This is one of the biggest threats to TJ'ism.

Thread temporarily unlocked due to Mufti Sahebs LATEST UPDATE AND CLARIFICATION

Quote
(B.E.E.P) Tabligh and Moderation

The Darul Iftaa had recently sent out a fatwa on its popular BEEP forum regarding a common misconception.

Alhumdullilah we have received positive messages from many parts of the world and from Senior Ulama. Many members who are actively engaged in the noble work of Dawah and Tabligh appreciated our dignified and diplomatic approach in putting the issue in proper perspective. Many have stated that such clarity was long overdue. We make dua Allah Taala grant us Ikhlas and sincerity and save us from pride, arrogance and haughtiness. Ameen.

While we have been extensively commended on the fatwa and our approach, the Fatwa should not be misconstrued as opposing the noble work of Tabligh, hence the following,

I am the direct product of Tabligh as my Marhoom father's (Rahimahullah) life took a change through Tabligh with the effort of Bhai Padia (Rahimahullah). My mother (Rahimahallah) always nurtured us to support Tabligh. My Shaykh and the silsila I come from are the founders and supporters of Tabligh.

The senior people of Tabligh are fully aware of my support of Tabligh. Many of them are the friends of my father.
In the recent past there was a major issue against Tabligh. I adopted a diplomatic view and approached the seniors of Tabligh to address the issue. They came personally to the Darul Iftaa to address the issue and the matter is still being addressed.

We have issued hundreds of Fatawa in support of Tabligh on the Askimam website. Hereunder are references of a few Fatawa:

askimam.org/public/question_detail/31085

askimam.org/public/question_detail/34449

askimam.org/public/question_detail/31932

askimam.org/public/question_detail/32162

askimam.org/public/question_detail/32376

askimam.org/public/question_detail/25660

And The Fatwa on Masturaat Jamat has gained great momentum.

askimam.org/public/question_detail/27757

The Fatwa in reference should be understood as follows,

1) In our Fatwa, we have repeatedly referred to the effort of Tabligh as being noble.
2) The effort of Tabligh could be included in the general term في سبيل الله.

3) Tabligh is an effective way of reformation.

4) In the Fatwa I have considered a political angle. Some Immigration officers equate Tabligh to Jihad Fil Qatl due to the broad and irresponsible use of the word في سبيل الله. I felt we needed to protect to protect the noble work of Tabligh and avoid impediments on its path. Immigration officers should know that Tabligh Jamaat is not a Jihadi group.

5) I also categorically stated that I distance myself from any irresponsible conduct and attitude in jihad.

6) However, we simply disagree with the attitude that Dawah and Tabligh is equivalent to and absolutely more virtuous to Jihad fil Qatl. Such an attitude has a potential of major consequences on ones Imaan and Aqaaid. Our response was to a specific question that exemplifies a general misconception.

7) I have omitted the academic discussions on this issue as such discussions are for the consideration of Ulama for example,
a. , الاستدلال بلعموم
b. Differentiating between reality and targheeb,
c. Contextualizing supporting statements of Ulama.

8) It is my humble opinion that whilst we also support the noble work of Tabligh, we have a responsibility to put things in perspective to avoid trespassing and deviating from moderation. We cannot be deterred by emotional outbursts and irresponsible responses.

9) The elders of Tabligh repeatedly urge the Ulama to correct them wherever they go wrong. It is our responsibility to rise above emotions and accept our shortcomings and correct ourselves. Such an attitude is keeping with Ikhlaas and only enhances the work of Tabligh.

10) The Darul Iftaa will continue supporting the noble work of Tabligh whilst also correcting the wrongs in good faith as part of its responsibility.

The fatwa in reference had the name of Moulana Huzaifah Deedat Sallamahu, a dedicated, talented, and promising young Aalim. The Fatwa was prepared by him under my guidance as his study exercise. I am responsible for every fatwa issued by the Darul Iftaa.

- Mufti Ebrahim Desai
