28JULY2014:

  1. Fiji Isla nd: New moon was SIGHTED so Fiji Muslim League has announced the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014. There is no possibility of this sighting!
  2. New Zealand :  FIANZ announced the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014 based on sighting in Fiji. There is no possibility of this sighting!
  3. Malaysia:  Government announced the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014. There is no possibility of this sighting!
  4. Singapore:  Government announced the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014. There is no possibility of this sighting! 
  5. Indonesia:  Government announced the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014. There is no possibility of this sighting!
  6. Saudi Arabia:  Government announced the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014 after CLAIMED moon sighting. There is no possibility of this sighting!
  7. South Africa:  New moon was SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014.
  8. Canada:  New moon was SIGHTED (in Chilli and South Africa) so the start of Shawwal from Monday the 28th of July 2014 (Crescent Committee, Hilal Committee of Metropolitan Toronto & Vicinity)

29JULY2014:

  1. Brunei:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the Government has announced the start of Shawwal from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.
  2. Sri Lanka:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.
  3. South India:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.
  4. (Western) Australia:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.
  5. Pakistan:  New moon was SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal is from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.
  6. India:  New moon was SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal is from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.
  7.  USA:  New moon was NOT SIGHTED so the start of Shawwal from Tuesday the 29th of July 2014.

Fiji Island and New Zealand information on www.moonsighting.com is incorrect, already asked them to fix!

السلام عليكم

Moon not sighted in Kerala (South India), so Eid will be on Tuesday, 29th of July after completing 30 days of Ramadan.
(Ramadan started 1 day earlier in Kerala than rest of India.)

(thats before the azaans called out as anyone whos been for umrah/hajj knows that azzan is called out about 5mins after sunset...then theres another 5-8 mins or so to allow some to pray sunnah then Maghrib jamaat commences.

Tomorrow: Sunday, July 27th, 2014 will be the 30th and final day of Ramadhan, due to the lack of any reports of a moon sighting. Therefore Monday, July 28th, will be the date of Eid Al-Fitr this year

Where did you see they saw the moon in south-africa? Any reliable organizations who stated such?

UUCSA confirms that the crescent for Shawwal 1435 has been sighted. Eid-ul-Fitr in South Africa will be on Mon 28 July 2014. Eid Mubarak!
