I guess one way would be to pay attention to what others say about changes they observe (and I don't mean they come and say 'you're possessed!' but more like 'what's wrong with you? Why are you acting all weird?'), how many people are noticing this, what are they noticing, are these people we trust?

Listening Ruqya can be helpful, I know many people who are benefitted from it. What you have to do is only listen listen listen, you yourself will come to know if you are affected.

How a woman knew she was possessed/under a spell.

Mufti Saeed Ahmed Palanpuri (ha) narrated this story to us in our local Masjid.

A woman once approached Mufti Saeed Ahmed Palanpuri (ha) and said she has had magic done on her and needed to be cured of it, she categorically said that it was "bahar ki asar" an outside effect, all her symptons pointed towards her being affected by either Magic or a jinn so Mufti Saab did what he had to and checked her and asked a few questions and told her "behen, bahar ka asar nahi he, Yeh under ka asar hai" sister, this is not an effect from external sources, this is an internal effect. He told her that she was pregnant!

Amazing how people think, always blaming the jinn world for everything. (In agreement to Muadh's thread) Its not always an outside thing AND most of the times it isn't.

Take ur shirt uve worn for some hours and spread it on the floor. Take a ruler and put two marks. Measure them. Now read manzil n blow on it. Measure again, if it ncreases then its jinn, if decreases then its sehr, if same then health problem.
