Who knows the real reason behind Dr. Zakir Naik's exile?

I warn Muslims living in Western countries that if they wish to coexist harmoniously with the Christian majority, they should not repeat the same mistakes.

Supporters of DZN feasted and celebrated the so called victory over Ravi Shankar. They compared it fath-e-makkah, Fath-e-mubeen.

The event:
The 2006 interfaith dialogue between Dr. Zakir Naik and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar took place in Bangalore, India, focusing on "The Concept of God in Islam and Hinduism in the Light of Sacred Scriptures"

DZN turned the event into a debate, and Ravi Shankar was not prepared for it.

A war of words broke out among supporters on social media.

Modi assumed the office of Prime Minister in 2014. He and his cabinet ministers were close to Ravi Shankar.

They retaliated and forced DZN into exile.

Today, secular governments are established in many Western countries. Muslims living in the West should not misuse this freedom to hurt the sentiments of Christians. We Indians, too, were under the misconception that secular governance is permanent. Muslims in Western countries are no different in this regard; the trend there mirrors that of Indian Muslims.

Dear Western Muslims,

Congratulations! 🎉 You have been selected for our exciting new “Progressive Muslim™ — Western Edition” program.

Please follow the guidelines below carefully. Remember: Islam is perfectly acceptable—as long as nobody can see you practicing it.

1. Leave Islam publicly

Then spend the rest of your life questioning everything about Islam publicly. This is, apparently, the safest and most fashionable option.

We may still need your services as an “insider” from time to time, so until your official exit interview is complete:

  1. Do NOT practice Islam publicly.
  2. Absolutely do NOT discuss Islam publicly.
  3. But please feel free to enjoy Sufi music, Sufi poetry, and Sufi movies—apparently Islam becomes culturally acceptable once the theology has been replaced by background music and spinning.

2. Rebrand Your family

Your daughter Aisha is now Olivia.

And whatever you do, don't let her think marriage could possibly be anything other than patriarchal bondage™.

Tradition is dangerous. Unless, of course, it is aesthetically pleasing, historically distant, and available on Netflix.

3. Please don't read the sources

Under NO circumstances should you independently open the Qur’an, Hadith, classical texts, or anything written before the invention of social media.

Why risk developing an informed opinion?

Our appointed scholars™ will continue providing carefully curated guidance from the pulpit whenever necessary.

They will tell you:

  1. what to believe,
  2. how to believe it,
  3. when to believe it,
  4. and, most importantly, when to keep donating.

Independent research is strongly discouraged.

Monthly donations, however, remain highly encouraged.

4. Vacation? Absolutely not.

Why spend two weeks somewhere relaxing when you can perform Hajj and Umrah repeatedly, preferably in a supervised group led by appointed scholars™

Remember our inspirational slogan:

“Fly to Makkah, See the World!

Spiritual journey, tourism package, group supervision, and fundraising opportunity—all conveniently bundled together.

5. Don't worry about citizenship

Your Western passport and citizenship are completely secure and guaranteed.

Just as Indian citizenship and the Indian passport have always been completely secure and guaranteed for Indian Muslims.

No historical irony whatsoever.

Please proceed confidently.

This groundbreaking guidance has been developed and refined in:

  • Al-Andalus
  • India
  • Tajikistan
  • Uzbekistan
  • The Balkans
  • The Philippines
  • China
  • And various other places where history has generously provided us with case studies.

🥇 GOLDEN ADVICE

If someone has the audacity to question your logic, DO NOT answer the question.

Instead:

  • Invoke the Sahaba (RA).
  • Announce that the question is actually an attack on Aqeedah.
  • Mention the sanctity of “early Islam.”
  • Avoid the original question completely.
  • Add several kilograms of Bollywood Emotional Masala™.
  • Become visibly offended.
  • Declare victory.

Bonus points if you can transform a simple historical or theological question into a five-hour debate about someone's character, intentions, iman, upbringing, and whether they secretly hate Islam.

This is not the first time we have heard such zealous speeches. Prior to 2014, we heard many impassioned speeches in India.
Since 2014, however, those very speakers have seemingly fallen silent and vanished from the public eye.

Today, those same impassioned individuals are clamoring for harmony in India, even though everyone knows they were the very ones responsible for creating discord. Living as minority and Meddling in the affairs of other religions and inviting trouble was entirely unnecessary.

Abdullah bin Umar رضي الله عنه cannot be accused of cowardice or love for the status quo of dunya when he made such a decision. With him we can truly say that this was religious hikmat.

Can the same be said about the Muslims of today? Even the least affluent of us has gathered so much of dunya, that we'd rather not do anything which would make it impossible for us to enjoy the dunya we have gathered for ourselves. That's not to speak of what utter cowards we have become.

In a situation like this, when we Muslims are weakened by the state of our imaan, the true hikmat would be to take a hardened stance, not to keep appeasing the kuffar. We are weak, but we don't have to show it to the kuffar that we are weak.

Cowardice can be defined as compromising solely for the sake of worldly interests—such as ensuring our business faces no obstacles or avoiding any trouble at the workplace.

Here, we are discussing the adoption of a cautious approach to maintain harmony, thereby enabling the practice of Islam within a peaceful environment. The majority of Muslims practice Islam only when circumstances are favorable; even the slightest hindrance can drive them away from Islam.

Adopting a hardline stance certainly does not mean we should unnecessarily challenge the religion of the majority community. Doing so might provide momentary satisfaction, but the resulting problems could prove to be long-lasting.
