The blog post that made me post this thread: www.muftisays.com/blog/thehousewife/3666_13-04-2014/will-...

Q: Do I tolerate Muadh Khan?

A: I tolerate Muadh Khan exactly the same as anyone else.

His posts have been edited at times, reported sometimes, warnings given etc

Q: Will I (we) edit or remove his posts under pressure?

A: No.

His posts and contents are complained about but when I read it I see NOTHING wrong 99% of the times. Which brings me to the conclusion that instead of reading WHAT he has typed you are only reading WHO he has typed about. Then it doesn't matter what he's asking or stating and instantly it's reported and just like in the above blog post it comes down to accusing "admin" "web site" etc

from above blog wrote:
Sadly i have to say its a shame that the admins ALLOW AND TOLERATE a certain brother to just VERBALLY ABUSE AND RIP UP AND HIT UNDER THE BELT LINE OTHER MUSLIMS, ULEMA AND MASHAIK AND DOES THROW PROOF AND FACTS OUT THE WINDOW WHEN BEING SUPPLIED

Fortunately for her, none of this is true.

What ensures a straightforward and fruitful debate is a resolute search for truth, not allowing one's own desires or the public's to take control. A sensible person, Muslim or non-Muslim, is expected to seek truth and to avoid error sincerely.

Most of the well-known Muslim scholars were very careful in this regard. Al-Imam al- Shafi`i, for instance, used to say: "I never talked with someone but sincerely wished that Allah keep him, protect him from sin and misdeed and guide him; and I never debated with someone but sincerely wished that we would come upon truth, regardless of whether he or I should be the one to think of it first."

Abu Hamed al-Ghazali says also in this connection: "Cooperation in seeking truth is inherent to religion, but sincerity in the pursuit of truth can be distinguished by certain conditions and signs. A diligent seeker of truth may be compared to one who is looking for his lost camel. It would be immaterial for him if he or another person should be the one to find it. Likewise, a sincere truth-seeker would perceive his partner as a helper rather than an adversary, and would be grateful to him if he should guide him to truth."

In another place of Volume 1 of Al-Ihya al-Ghazali says: "Over-enthusiasm is a mark of corrupted scholars, even when the case they are defending is true. By showing excessive enthusiasm for truth and their contempt of their oppontents, the latter would be stimulated to retaliate and react in the same manner. They would be driven to stand for falsehood and to be true to the label attributed to them. If the champions of truth had spoken kindly to them avoiding publicity and humiliation they would have succeeded in winning them over. But as it is, a person who enjoys a place of prestige is strongly inclined to preserve his position by attracting followers, and the only way to that is to boast and to attack or curse adversaries."

To conclude, a debate must be conducted fairly and calmly, without showing any excitement or roughness, and without compromising the chances of arriving at the truth. Debaters should avoid spiteful argumentation and word play, as such behaviour poisons the atmosphere, arouses hostile attitudes and may well end in deadlock.

Amzingly, Muadh is amongst the members who does remain calm. He has removed statements when required and doesn't complain about our decisions. The ones causing the fuss are actually breaking more rules and behaving more unIslamic than the one they are complaining about. The site is not on anyone's side. It's silly to assume so

Muadh indeed is a very good contributor and genuine person. I personally admire him even if sometime disagree with him. Often people fail to see from the paradigm and angle he is presenting his argument. Anyways , the above post was for everyone who reads to ponder over and look within themselves.

I concur with dr saab and molana yaseen saab

Its plain to see that mk has become a target, but mk is a rare breed mashallah and just carries on, its funny that when he writes on blogs/articles which suit peoples own agendas then we hear "wah wah muadh bhai" but when he applies the same principles which we do not like then he becomes public enemy number 1

Be fair and just people, this is what deoband stood for!

(1) I have not read the posts here in their totality.
(2) Colonel is the only contributor with us in the Abu Tamim class. Let us value him. I am sure we all do.
(3) He will certainly benefit from the company of a Shaikh.

FEI, I concur with Maulana 100%.

This.

Muadh ain't the problem, problem is people are to boxed in hadhratism and used to their boot licking cultures but they completely forget that no one is infallible and that includes Mashaykh, Auliya, Ulema etc. People need to get out of this, yes adab has its place but it doesn't mean we become bootlickers, that's my take on it and Muadh masha'Ala don't tolerate nonsense in Deen, how many have you guys seen who have this all round ghairah quality ??

Our hate and love should be for Allah alone.

He left the forum a while back and only came back due to public demand.

Muadh is a legend and it's always a pleasure to read his posts, his insight, experience, analysis is awesome, even though at times you feel like your reading a university composed essay :D awesome nonetheless. People who have issues with him need to understand where's he is coming from and what exactly has trying to convey, and also convey their arguments across correctly, I see that many fail to do so.

Also another thing I'd like to add is people who are so concerned with online things, seriously need to get over themselves and get a life, Internet should supplement your lives in a positive manner but not consume it and take over it. Go do something useful if you got nothing good to contribute.

Just some of my thoughts- Allah knows best

Asslamo Allaikum All,

To err is human.

I am just a humble Servant of Allah (SWT) liable to mistakes and susceptible to mistakes but there is one thing which I don’t understand.

There is not a shadow of doubt that some people have hate towards me and I have repeatedly asked for the matter of be clarified and discussed and continue to offer that.

Then we have brothers like Hazrat (Shaykh) Deoband (HA) who have stated that their discussion is purely Academic and would like for it to remain that way (Alhumdolillah) . Hazrat (Shaykh) Deoband (HA) has stated that he has decided to stay on Muftisays (Masha’Allah) to scrutinise and discuss some of “my errors”.

May Allah (SWT) protect me as I have many (Ameen).

I only have a few queries:

Am I the only one who deserves such scrutiny and refutation or others (including your own Shauyukh and teachers) gets away with whatever they say? I am discussing Shaykh (Mufit) A.S. Desai (HA) and here is a Fatwa around Oct/Nov 2013 (last year):

Maulana Tariq Jameel (HA):

Question

I think you heard about Maulana Tariq Jameel of the Tabligh Jamaat. He went to a Shiah Masjid and prayed there, ate food with them and took pictures with them. Then he invited them to the Tabligh Ijtima and some came. He says that they are not kaafir. He also says some negative things about the Sahaabah who were not of the Ahl-e-Bait. My Shaikhul Hadith (in Pakistan) is ready to issue the fatwa of kufr on Maulana Tariq Jameel. Please comment.

Answer

We do not know who this chap Tariq Jameel is. However, we have been hearing lately of his vile and haraam antics. If what you have attributed to this character is correct, then undoubtedly, he is a bedfellow of the kuffaar Shiahs. When your Shaikhul Hadith issues the necessary Fatwa, do forward a copy to us.

The Majlis, Vol 22 No 3, pg. 3

This is the first Fatwa and its clearly mentoned in plain English that "this chap" is not known yet a Fatwa about his Kuf'r is issued based on an email (supposedly or phone call or whatever).

So should the guns of scrutiny only be turned towards Muadh Khan?

Shaykh (Maulana) Ebraheem Bham (HA):

THE INTERFAITH KUFR OF THE REVEREND ABRAHAM BHAM- OPENLY MAKING HIS EXIT FROM ISLAM

Is it permissable for another Alim to call another Alim a "Reverend"? Where is the proof in Shariah that someone get away with giving a Muslim Kaafir titles just because he is an Alim?

Darul-uloom Christmas Cards (or Seasons Greeting):

Read the blog and read the response!

So should the guns of scrutiny only be turned towards Muadh Khan?

It would be most appreciated if some evidence can be provided which shows that scrutiny should be avoided at others and laymen fully targetted for public shooting!

Jzk
