Can anyone shed light on what is the religious 'ruling' on maher.
Is their a fixed amount, or is it just something that the husband and wife need to decide between them selves?
Also when getting married their are requirements like gold, clothes etc, the groom has to give. Are these required, or once again just some cultural additions?
