Question: Can a person give all his property as WAQF without leaving anything for his legal heirs?

Bismillah hir-Rahman nir-Rahim !

It is not good. It is mentioned in hadith that instead of spending your wealth in the path of Allah it is better to leave your children rich than to leave them poor begging others, so that your children are not miserable and abandoned. Hence, first you should give your heirs appropriate shares in house, property and business and after it if you have some more property in your hand then declare it as waqf.

Allah (Subhana Wa Ta'ala) knows Best

Plant trees as it is also sadaqah jaariyah.

Anas ibn Malik reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Even if the Resurrection were established upon one of you while he has in his hand a sapling, let him plant it.”

Source: Musnad Aḥmad 12902

Waqf a Quran for sub continent reciters (which is allowed in haramain I think it is green colored).

One in makkah and one in madinah.

could be a few dollars. But as long as it is there in haram, he will get rewards for that.

Don't fall for online waqf. Send money through visiting Zairs or Hajee (pilgrims), let them purchase and keep mushaf there.

The Quran copies are replaced regularly in the Haramain. Maybe better to have them placed in local mosques, abroad. And Allah knows best.

You mentioned he had a lot of old items. Maybe get them sold off.

We can also give in charity in his name.

He is fortunate, he has less sin than we do. His slate was wiped clean when he took his Shahadah recently.

Most of what he has will probably end up in the skip. He was in Irish folk music band, that did live events at pubs and clubs back in the 70's and 80's. So he has loads of these huge heavy vintage speakers and mixers. He did post some of them on e-bay a few years ago. They did not sell.

Even if he did manage to sell them he is too frail and weak to arrange or organise to box package and transportation to a seller. I have a chronic back problem and would not be able to do it either.

Besides I think if they did sell the priority will be to contribute towards the funeral costs . As it stands some Muslim has agreed to help with the funeral.

Situation is very complex due to the fact he embraced Islam in a state of a chronic illness. So there is so much that he cannot do, or study and learn.

As for the topic of the other thread the only useful organisation with Islamic education for someone in his situation. I would say is IERA others have gatherings and events classes for converts who are healthy. And can attend and participate but not much for someone who is severley ill and housebound.

May be his halal equipment can be auctioned on an general islamic forum.
Speakers and mixers are useful in masjids. It is better utilized in markaz masjids. It can be bought and donated to masjids.

It is sort of equipment used at music concerts not suitable for Masajid I don’t think. We have noise regulations here in the U.K. Besides the equipment is old and antique it would only interest people who like to collect old products that are no longer manufactured.

In anycase I have looked at Muslim charities. The following are type of projects that would fall within his budget.

Sponsoring of a small tube well with water pump.

Paying for cataract eye surgery of one patient.

Paying for planting of trees.

A donation to a Dar ul uloom.

A donation to an orphanage.

A donation to an Islamic Dawah for distribution of Quran translations and Dawah literature.

Donation for Islamic classes for new Muslims to learn basics of Islam Quran Salah etc.

A small donation towards the building of a masjid.

A small donation towards building of a hospital.

With the last two even if your donation purchases a few bricks it’s still an immense reward. And ALLAH knows best.
