COMMENT: The British govt KNEW Masood Azhar was from Jaish-E-Muhammad.

Jaish-E-Muhammad (saw) was not even around as far as I understood, especially with Maulana Masood as the Amir of it. Jaish-E-Muhammad (saw) came after the hijacking of the plane in 2000 and then, if i'm correct, he formed the new army and joined other groups together as one. So how did the British Government KNOW he was from Jaish-E-Muhammed (saw) - He was in fact from another group, Harkatul something something (I can't recall the name)

He was a supporter of Harkatul Mujahadeen 1993, Jaish e Muhammad was created in 2000.

Other then that some very good points raised by Brother Rajab, I would urge others to use the points raised by the brother as a blue print and complain to the BBC via their website, it only takes about five minutes.

This programme was supposed to be in two parts, anyone know when the second part be broadcast?

The worst thing about the article is the mention of "Clapton Masjid" and how they try to link it with terrorism and Jihad. So sad!

Clapton Masjid is where Shaikul Hadeeth Mufti Umar Farooq Sahib is the Imam. and Mufti Farooq is one of the teachers of the founders of Muftisays.com. However, Mufti Farooq has not been able to supervise the Q&A Ulama since late 2004.

Well just sharing on Whatsapp is pretty much pointless....One could argue that complaining to the BBC might be pointless...The difference is that BBC as a Public service Broadcaster, are obligated to respond to each complaint. They have to pay people to respond to complaints. So every time some one complains it costs the BBC money.

The other thing is to verify what is being forwarded. Sometimes, things don't add up and people fall for it.

All the more reason to increase the licence fee

Yes that's true make sure you are accurate,...listen to the Programme yourself before complaining , another thing to note although complaining via the website is easier, there is only a certain number of words you can post on there. For lengthier complaints you have to make postal complaints.

Finally be firm ,be professional, but do not use a foul or abusive language that goes especially for the youngsters who get overly emotional, a belligerent tone is counter productive, does more damage.

Not to mention Usama bin Laden has been linked to Arsenal - so all football fans and Arsenal supporters, get your alibi ready.

Oxford graduates, you too get your alibi ready since you will be linked just like being a Deobandi, you are being linked to anything and everything for now.

I think it is laughable that someone suggseted we should have a jamiat ulema hind like organisation. Which faction should we copy the one led my maulana mahmood madni or his uncle syed arshad madani?
Also someone mentioned earlier that maybe Muslims need to look up to the Indian model? Are we really in some cloud cookooko land. Indian Muslims have far greater problems than UK Muslims and apart from maripat and a few others Indian Muslims in terms of their acheivements in the last 50 years or so have very little to offer UK Muslims in terms of learning. Rather I would argue that Indian Muslims could learn a few things from us.

The split in jamiat only happened few years ago but their objectives are still same.

When allegations are made against Muslims in India, jamiat leaders do appear in the media to counter the allegations. Do we have that in UK? NO!

Maybe fair enough. We had the MCB which was then shunned by the political establishment. How much influence do jamiat ulema e hind have on the Indian landscape?

In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

As-salāmu ‘alaykum wa-rahmatullāhi wa-barakātuh

Please don't share or forward Social Media tit-bit (responses) without confirming the facts on the ground. I understand that many have been offended by yesterday's broadcast but randomly generating WhatsApp messages or facebook posts with no background research or Academic scrutiny is counterproductive and doesn't make us look good.

Furthermore, this not a wrestling match where you need to show brute strength. Muslims have just as much access to Social Media as anyone else to make themselves heard or at least have a coherent response. We need to articulate our response instead of turning this into a confrontational feud for which the vulnerable ones among us will pay for from London to Edinburgh.

All Institutions and Ulama who have contacted Wifaqul Ulama have had their responses drafted, checked by a Barrister and returned to them to be posted on their official sites (expect one which is being proof read today).

The offer to do the same is open to anyone in United Kingdom. Millions of Muslims live in United Kingdom and their story will be told and their views will be represented Insha'Allah. We have confidence in Allah Ta'ala and the abilities granted by Him (Azza Wajal) to many of our fellow brothers and sisters in this country.

Britain is our country and we will NEITHER compromise Islam NOR take a back seat, Insha'Allah. We will engage with the greater British society at every level positively and confidently.

All we request from you is to make Dua for a lot of faceless Muslims who have been working behind the scenes for the benefit of the Ummah expecting reward solely from Allah Ta'ala.

BBC has made their move, its our turn now!

جزاك اللهُ خيرًا

They did regularly have meetings with previous congress leadership, Maulana mahmood madani regularly appears on tv debate shows. Jamiat is viewed as influential Muslim body by the political parties, bjp has gone as far creating a dubious body with same name but different spellings to mislead Muslims and uses it during election campaigns
