"...If he draws nearer to me a hands span, I will draw nearer to him an arm's length, and If he draws nearer to Me an arm's length, I will draw nearer to him a fathom length, and if he comes to Me walking, I will rush to him at (great) speed."
(Bukhari and Muslim
Shaykh Hakeem ul Ummah r.a. explains this Hadith by the Example of a toddler who is still learning to walk. The little child musters up courage and begins taking a few shaky steps. When the child is about to fall, the father runs and picks him up. This is Exactly the case of that servant who is trying to please Alllah سبحانه وتعالى. When he manages a few broken efforts, Allah سبحانه وتعالى bestows upon him the wealth of guidance. Shaykh Hakeemul Ummah says the shame upon us is our lack of courage and determination to get up from our slumber and attempt to walk. Muster up some courage and try to do what Allah سبحانه وتعالى requires. Allah سبحانه وتعالى Himself will 'run' and pick up His servants by granting them His special assistance. Allah سبحانه وتعالى with every iota of the universe wants to make us his. Shaykh Asghar Gondwi says:
My life which was spent in negligent
Slumber awakens to the break of day
From every hair of mine I hear him calling me.

What does zikr (remembrance) mean? Shaykh Hakeem ul Ummah r.a. in tafseer (commentary) Bayaan ul Qur'an states: "Allah says, "Remember Me." How should we remember Allah? "You will be in My remembrance by being obedient to Me." Therefore: If one's parents are ill, that person should postpone his Nawaafil (optional Salah prayer), tilawat (recitation of Qur'an) and zikr (meditation in the the remembrance of Allah), and attend to their medical needs. At such a time, this is zikr (remembrance) of Allah. The wife is sick but one does not see to her treatment and cure because one is absorbed in muraaqabah (meditation), it will lead to the disrepute of the Sufi's. People will say, "do not marry Sufi's, for they sit with eyes closed, they remain on the Arsh (Throne of Allah), they do not fulfil the rights of those on the Farsh (earth)."

"Allah draws or attracts towards Himself, whomsoever He will. And He guides towards Himself, one who inclines towards Him." (Ash Shura 42:13)
In Tajalliat-e-Jazb (Manifestation of Allah's Attraction) by Shaykh Hakeem Muhammad Akhtar Sahib D.B, it has been written about Muraad (one who is sought after) and Mureed (the one who is a seeker) through the example of our beloved Prophet Muhammad Sallallahualayhiwassalam and Prophet Moosa Alayhissalam.
At present...
The Muraad (one who is sought after) is endowed with the attribute of jazb (attraction) and is pulled or attracted by Allah swt towards Himself. Allah swt has intended to make this chosen servant His, and is pulling the Muraad towards Himself without the Muraad having to make much mujahadah (effort)
Whereas, the Mureed (seeker) who is seeking Allah swt's attraction, turns his attention towards Allah, the Mureed engages himself in thikr, presents himself in the khidmet of his Shaykh, making concerted effort (mujahadah) to refrain from all types of minor and major sins, this person will eventually be blessed with jazab (attraction), as without Jazb (attraction) a person cannot acquire the closeness of Allah swt.

[b]THE BLIND FOLLOWING THE BLIND [b]written by Taalibah To be sitting in the Masjid al-Haram in Makkatul Mukarramah, is one of great gifts of honour and reverence from the Almighty Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala, and a feeling of overwhelming awe and gratefulness. As I was seated in the masjid one day waiting for the call of adhan, two African women came and sat beside me making zikr of Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala. I turned towards them and made salam, only to see that they were both blind. The woman who sat beside me replied to my salam and continued glorifying Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala. Instantly my heart felt pity due to their blindness, but at the same time, it amazed me of how blind people from around the world flocked to the blessed city without the aid of their eyesight. As I waited for the adhan to commence questions ran through my mind, how did they manage at the airport? How did they travel to Makkah? How did they find their way to the masjid? I paused and questioned myself, at how weak my trust in Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala was. He can make anything possible, especially for those who have full trust and reliance in Him. Just like these women did. In truth, it was I who was justified to be pitied for questioning their presence due to my lack of understanding in the trust of Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala and not them. As the words of the adhan began to echo, everyone rose to their feet. I noticed that both the blind women were stood slightly away from the qiblah, so I gently held the shoulders of the lady nearest to me and turned her towards the direction of the Kaaba, she stroked my hand and thanked me. Her friend held on to her clothing and followed whatever her friend said and did. Seeing their actions reminded me of the phrase the blind following the blind; unfortunately this terminology in English is used as a phrase of mockery, but to actually see this in reality is nothing but a miracle of Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala. [b]THE REALITY OF OUR LIVES written by Taalibah Thousands of people are seen during the blessed time of Hajj and Umrah, enshrouded in two white sheets (ihram). Seeing such people reminds one of the shroud the deceased are covered and buried in. Once in ihram, there is suddenly no longer any significance in status or wealth. It becomes difficult to differentiate from where around the world people have travelled, as every person appears to be equal to others regardless of colour, race, and wealth. This in truth is our very status in the eyes of Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala, that not matter what worldly gains we have or whatever our worldly achievements are or from whichever background we originate from, in the eyes of Allah Subhaanuhuwataaala we are all equal, and will be reckoned as such on the day of Judgement. When a person dies his/her status disappears leaving only his/her name and wealth behind, and even this within a short period of time is utilised and forgotten. In our lifetime, the ones whom we strived to please will continue with their lives, forgetting us and replacing our vacant spaces with the companionship and friendship of others.
