The unique status of the mother in Islam is unequelled in any society or religion. There are many verses from The Qur'aan and Ahaadeeth of Rasulullah (S.A.W) with regards to the parents and especially the mother. ONe is mentioned here for the benefit of the viewers.
Abu Hurairah (R.A) said: "A man came to the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who among the people is most deserving of my good company?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then who?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then who?' He said, 'Your mother.' He asked, 'Then who?' He said, 'Then your father.'" [Bukhari, Muslim]
