Alsalam aleykum, i have a problem every ramadan, i develop terrible insomnia towards the end of ramadan, Even I had to break several times my fast due to this problem, is this considered sickness? I make up every year but i feel very frustrated that i can not perform my duties fully in this sacred month. Please advice

In principle, If one is unable to fast due to an illness or it will increase your illness and it’s learnt from experience and a Muslim doctor had advised not to fast, then one is allowed to break their fast and make it up later as Qadha.

We advise that you should consult a Muslim doctor on whether it is advisable for you to fast or not, and to prescribe you with treatments for insomnia.
