Question: Doubtful Wealth Purification
Assalamu Alaykum,

In my business during onboarding, I claimed we used employees, but all work was subcontracted. Clients would not hire subcontracting companies, so they hired us under false understanding. There were also instances where progress was overstated, though services were ultimately delivered properly. The services were halal and satisfactory. I regret this.

I suspect most clients were affected, and income varies. I have no money other than what I may receive as profit from here.

Question: Can I stay until I find an alternative and receive whatever little profit I can for transition, then use this mixed income to start a halal business and later give the original doubtful portion in charity to purify the remaining wealth?

Jazakallahu Khairan.

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الجواب حامداومصليا

If you have delivered your services to your clients properly then there would not be any need to return money back to the client, unless they make a claim.

And Allah knows best.
