Bismillah ArRahman ArRaheem
I request you to please provide a fatwa for the following situation as soon as possible:
I have a relative (first cousin of mine) who until recently ran a business selling many haram things. He now has sold off this business, not out of any religious reasons as far as I know, but rather to retire himself.
This person has two sons who have regular (and I believe halal) jobs, and they are the only ones who are bringing in an income to the joint household currently, to the best of my knowledge.
Given this, will it now be permissible for me to accept an invitation at their house and partake of their food, despite the presence of the proceeds from the sale of the haraam business of the father in their collective pool of wealth?

The haram business that my cousin had was one that sold greeting cards. Many--perhaps most--of these cards were for un-Islamic celebrations, and many had images of living things on them. In this store he also sold lottery tickets. He owned and operated this business for about a decade before selling it.
Wassalam.

Assalamu Alaikum Respected Ulama,
In our state it is permitted legally, to have surveillance cameras on school grounds. However, our school is a ladies college run by muslims. Would it be appropriate for administration most of who are muslim males to view any footage recorded during school hours? where female students and staff could have their awrah uncovered, as it is a female-only environment.

[color=darkblue:68b6c09e25][b:68b6c09e25]Asalaamu alaykum warahmatullahi wa baraktuhu respected ulema,
A friend from Australia has been trying for a child for many years and has been unsuccessful, so she dicided to adopt a boy, she has recently become very worried as someone approached her & said it wasnt allowed. She is very concerned because she wants to adopt another two children but is now reluctant because of what someone had told her. She also wants to know if she adopts a girl, does she have to observe hijab in front of her adoptive father when she attains puberty.
I was always taught it was a great reward to look ater an orphan as our beloved prophet s.a.w was an orphan & I thought, though it may be very difficult to raise children whom are not blood or foster children (through suckling) Im sure the rewards are immense because of this difficulties providing that they adhered by the laws of hijab.
I told her that she needed to observe hijab in front of him when he attains puberty, she needs to keep the child's surname (his fathers name) but she wanted to have all this backed up by ahadiths, could you please back this up for me to forward to her & what advice could you give her?

Assalamu alaykum,
Why and who decicded on appointeing the 4 Immams (Hanifi, Shafi, Hambli, Ahmadi). Why 4?
The teachings of the 4 Immams differ or contradict in some cases. Can we follow and practice the teachings of all immams or do we only follow 1 immam?
Can we come to a decision on which immam to follow by ourselves? or is this determined by our family roots or geographical location?
Zazakallah

Assalamualykum
could you please advice me on what to do as i have bought a pair of shoes and after wearing them a few times i had been told by a family member that the inside of the shoes, not just the insole but all the sides inside the shoes is also made out of pig skin, i have contacted the makers of the shoes to ask whether this is true and they should be answering my questions inshAllah by tomorrow. However just incase i went back to the shop to ask if they would take it back, they said yes but as id worn them outside they refused. i know pigs skin is impure so i should refrain from wearing it but the shoes were costly and i cant throw them out and i need to wear them as i bought them for the winter weather mostly. Would it be ok if i wore them but changed the socks i wore every time or keep a specific pair of socks for those shoes and if i dont pray salaah in those socks?
jazakallah
