I had a secret marriage which has now ended in divorce, I do intend to re-marry after, but how can I perform my iddah when I am a full-time university student? Will my iddah be valid if I leave my home?

A divorced woman stays in her husbands house. If that is difficult for her it is better for the husband to leave. Also, she can pass her Iddat in another house. The husband should provide maintenance to her whilst she passes her Iddat. If he doesn’t then by necessity to the extent of her needs she could go out to earn her living.

In the case scenario mentioned, if your husband wants to retract you back he can do during the Iddat period. Otherwise, you will have to observe the Iddat at home and not go out to university. You can request to study at home for that period.
