Bismillah hir Rehman nir Raheem
The word احد means One, Alone.
And the word الله has been derived from اله meaning One who is worshipped.
Tauhid (Monotheism) why beleive in it?
Its a common question circulating amongst the non believers. It is difficult to imagine One power controlling the universe, and not only humanbiengs but all the animals, trees, sun, moon and thousands of stars that are revolving out there in galaxy. How can one power control all of it? How is it possible?
The reasony why some of the people find it difficult to beleive in Oneness is because they try to match their own power with the Allah Almighty above. Usually people tend to think about Allah in their own kind of way. They reason that a king alone is not able to run the whole country he needs a bunch of brain racking Wazirs or viceroys working beneath him to handle few matters while he dominates as the real source.
And here is where human kind make mistake in recognizing the difference between Allah and a simple worldly king.
When we talk about a Supreme Power who is known as Allah/God/Sustainer...... the human mind races around thinking of power that is unstoppable a power which helps and does as it likes..... but then the mind stops there.They start to include other powers or sub-powers along with Allah Al-mighty.
But o my brothes and sisters I ask! When you say the word Allah/God/Sustainer then doesnt your heart call out to the One and Only King who wathces over you? When we say God we mean a power unstoppable...a powerful sorce which is not exceded by any!Then how come this power who we believe has control over everything need more subpowers to help him? Or how can a God be the one who needs a child or a wife? for children and wife is actually a way to keep your linkage alive, children are to help you stand when you fall down on your feet,and wife is there to help you pick up when you feel off the road so what kind of a power is god if he needs children to be sent to earth? or he needs subpower to control some of the systems of earth?
Indeed when we say God we mean a power who does not rely on any other! He doesnt need any child to support Him in his old age for he does not age! He does not need any other sub power to control his systems for He only orders and the work is done.
The polytheists worshipping objects are absolutely powerless. they do not possess capability of either benefiting anyone or inflicting any harm. Some polytheists beleive that these idols or child of god is an interceder towards their lord. This notion is nothing but mere fallacy, because a simple reason resides in every book that have been revelead from the heavens above. Did Allah inform them about any such thing? Or do they profess to be more knowldgeable than Allah regarding matters of heaven and world. It is well known that even the intercession of the Prophets and saints itself is governed by Allah.
Allah states in Holy Quran :
"There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Beneficient (Allah ) as His slave. Verily, He knows each of them, and has counted them a full counting. And everyone of them will come to Him alone on the Day of Resurrection ( without any helper, or protector or defender)" (V.19:93-95)
and then again Allah states :
"SAY,"THE TRUTH IS THAT ALLAH IS ONE. ALLAH IS BESOUGHT OF ALL, NEEDING NONE. HE NEITHER BEGOT ANYONE, NOR WAS HE BEGOTTEN. AND EQUAL TO HIM HAS NEVER BEEN ANYONE."" (V.112:1-4)
I ask isnt it true that heritage, family are a sign of weakness in creatures? why does one need a family for? the answer is to be complete. and yet Allah is indeed complete without any child or family. He is a source, a power on which every thing relies on but He in turn doesnt rely on anyone.
Allah states in His Holy Book :
"THEY HAVE INVENTED THE JINNS AS PARTNERS WITH ALLAH, WHILE HE HAS CREATED THEM; AND THEY HAVE FABRICATED FOR HIM SONS AND DAUGHTERS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE. PURE IS HE, AND FAR MORE HIGHER THAN WHAT THEY DESCRIBE. (HE IS) THE ORIGINATOR OF THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH. HOW CAN HE HAVE A SON WHEN HE NEVER HAD A WIFE? HE CREATED EVERYTHING, AND HE KNOWS EVERYTHING." (V.6:100-101)
and then again Allah states :
"LISTEN, TO ALLAH BELONG ALL THOSE IN THE HEAVENS AND ALL THOSE ON THE EARTH. AND THOSE WHO INVOKE ASSOCIATE-GODS BESIDES ALLAH DO NOT FOLLOW A REALITY. THEY FOLLOW NOTHING BUT WHIMS AND DO NOTHING BUT MAKE CONJECTURES.
HE IS THE ONE WHO MADE FOR YOU THE NIGHT, SO THAT YOU MAY HAVE REST IN IT, AND (MADE) THE DAYTO SEE. INDEED, THERE ARE SIGNS THEREIN FOR PEOPLE WHO LISTEN.
THEY SAY, "aLLA HAS GOT A SON". PURE IS HE. HE IS SELF-SUFFICIENT. TO HIM BELONGS WHAT IS IN THE HEAVENS AND WHAT IS IN THE EARTH. YOU HAVE NO PROOF FOR IT. DO YOU ALLEGE ABOUT ALLAH WHAT YOU DO NOT KNOW?
SAY:THOSE WHO FABRICATE LIES AGAINST ALLAH SHALL NOT PROSPER."(V.10:66-69)
Then there are those who associate other gods along with Him.
"In The Noble Quran by Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani sahab,explained in this verse:
"SURELY YOUR LORD IS ALLAH, THE ONE WHO CREATED THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH IN SIX DAYS, AND THEN HE POSITIONED HIMSELF ON THE THRONE. HE GOVERNS ALL AFFAIRS (OF HIS CREATIONS). THERE IS NO ONE WHO COULD INTERCEDE BEFORE HIM, EXCEPT AFTER HIS PERMISSION. THAT IS ALLAH, YOUR LORD, SO WORSHIP HIM. WOULD YOU STILL PAY NO HEED?"(V.10:3)
the pagans believed that after creating the universe, Allah kept Himself aloof from managing most of its affairs, and invested deifferent dieties with all His powere regarding them. Moreover, these dieties, according to their belief, had inherent power to intercede with Allah even in matter exclusively in His control. The present verse refutes this absurd assumption by stating that it is Allah alone who governs all affairs of the universe, and no one can intercede without His permission"
and then again Allah calls on to the people saying:
"AND DO NOT INVOKE, OTHER THAN ALLAH, WHAT NEITHER BENEFITS YOU NOR HARMS YOU, FOR, IF YOU DO SO, THEN YOU WILL SURELY BE ONE OF THE UNJUST." (v.10:106)
I say, if for a little while even if one try to presume that there can be more than one god, our minds will scream at us denying the fact untill and unless we kill the inner voice within us and follow our own desires. Its true if there would have been more than one god then every other day there would have been clashes. You may ask why?well when two or more powers get together they tend to put up their own advise or decision up as the best... if there would have been a god of rain and a god of land, the god of rain may decide to pour the rain while the god of land would want the land to be dry today. surely an argument will take place ...once or twice one of them may think of compromising but then till when? no two powers can gather togeher. And if one would say that other gods are incapable of disagreeing with the Lord, then definitely they are not god at all, for incapability is not a quality imagined in a god.
in Noble Quran under the verse:
" SAY,"HAD THERE BEEN OTHER GODS ALONG WITH HIM", AS THEY SAY, "THEN THEY WOULD HAVE OUT A WAY TO THE LORD OF THRONE. (V.17:42)
HAD THERE BEEN GODS BESIDES ALLAH, IN THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH, BOTH OF THEM WOULD HAVE FALLEN IN DISORDER.SO PURE IS ALLAH, THE LORD OF THE THRONE, FROM WHAT THEY DESCRIBE.
HE IS NOT QUESTIONED OF WHAT HE DOES, AND THEY ARE QUESTIONED.(V.21:22-23"
Mufti Taqi Usmani sahab wrote :
"This is an argument of common understanding against polytheism. Had there been more than one god, each one of them equipped with full powers and attributes of godhead and quite independent of the other, they would have certainly disagreed in some decisions leading them to quarrel with one another, finding a way to overpower the Lord of Throne who controls the wholeuniverse, and thus the entire system of the univers would have been destroyed by their mutual wuarrels leading to anarchy. If other gods are presumed to be unable to disagree with the Lord of Throne, then they are no gods, because inability to do something is not imaginable in a god."
This is just a tiniest glimpse of Tauhid InshAllah i will be presenting more on this subject with the help of Allah. I pray that may Allah shower His Blessings on our beloved Prophet

} and honor him with the highest rank that he is promised of. May Allah accept my work as a reason to forgive me on the Day of judgement when there will be no shadow to cover our heads, no parent will recognize their child, and vice versa, when every person will be drowned in his sweat of sins.
May Allah forgive every Believer who believes in One and Only Allah and in His Prophet Muhammad
