Asslamo Allaikum,

I went to a Shaykh in Birmingham and asked, "There are so many things which you recommend for Muslims to do and so many sins to give up, what is ONE THING which you believe that if the Ummah gave up it would improve our situation?"

He put his head down, thought for a while and said, "Music! The Ummah is INFECTED with Music even those who pray and are trying to practise cannot get away from it in stores, on their mobiles . And Music destroys the spirituality of a person. Makes him/her DEAD!"

Shaykh Hussain Sattar says that Shaykh Zulfiqar told him in Madina, "Forget the Internet what is destroying practising Muslims are mobile phones. Practising Niqab wearing Muslimahs are texting things to men which they would NEVER say in person. Somehow Shaytaan makes these Niqab wearing Muslimahs drop their guard of modesty. Similar is the case of practising Muslim men, they are texting things to women which they would NEVER say in person".

Shaykh Hussain Sattar says "Why do need hundreds of minutes a month to talk? Why do you need hundreds of texts monthly? If you look at my inbox it only has 4-5 emails. I see an email I action it and then I delete it!"

All of these are distractions from Allah (SWT), you use these devices as a necessity and don't get bogged down in them.

Jazakullah Khairun

This is Very true, I cant stand it. Yet it seems so normal. I feel so guilty my self.

This is why i have posted Hadith on Music on my Blog. I was going to post one single post with a selection of 40 Ahaadith. But i decided to post them one at a time. If I had put all forty of them, no one would read all of it. At least this way people will read short Hadith. May Allah guide us all.
