On the light side of life

Should AI Convert to Islam?

Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has urged programmers to infuse “Islamic” values into tech.

By Sophie Lemière
January 21, 2025

Recently, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim made headlines when he urged young IT developers and tech professionals to incorporate Islamic values into artificial intelligence (AI) systems, arguing that this would ensure that AI serves humanity in a more ethical and just manner. Since coming to office in late 2022, Anwar has made the development of AI and tech in Malaysia a priority of the country’s economic agenda. In a world increasingly driven by artificial intelligence, the notion of embedding religious principles into the algorithms that shape our lives is both an intriguing and deeply troubling idea. While Anwar’s intent may be to create a moral compass for AI, the suggestion raises fundamental questions about the dangers of imbuing artificial intelligence with any form of religious or ideological dogma – even more so as Malaysia is slowly increasing its control over the media and tightening censorship on the pretext of social harmony.

To understand the risks, it is essential to first grasp what it means to imbue AI with a set of guiding principles. Artificial intelligence, in its simplest form, is a tool – an advanced tool, but a tool nonetheless. AI systems, otherwise known as large language models, learn from vast amounts of data and can be programmed to follow particular sets of rules. Yet, by giving AI a religious framework like Islam, developers are not merely programming a set of guidelines. They are imposing a belief system, one that may have profound, even uncontrollable, consequences. This is a concept that merits deep reflection, as it parallels the dangers of embedding political ideologies into AI, a scenario that’s already seen disturbing signs of realization.

Growing up I used to love my android devices. From android tablets to android phones. I remember growing up I’d download an app called lucky patcher. Where you’d hack games and basically have has much ingame currency you liked.

Moving onto the present I have definitely joined the “dark side” spending money on 2 iPhones a MacBook and an Apple Watch.

Apple is just more simple and reliable when it comes to its core apps like the camera for example

Apple pulls huge iPhone feature after UK government attempts to spy on users

Apple has removed security features from iPhones in the UK, in a major and unprecedented move.

The change comes amid reports that the UK government had asked Apple to introduce a “backdoor” into its devices, which would allow intelligence agencies to spy on all of its users. That order is secret, meaning that neither Apple or the UK’s Home Office have commented on whether or not it exists, but both the BBC and the Wall Street Journal have reported on its existence.

Apple did not comment on whether the removal of the feature was related to those reports but said it was “gravely disappointed” that it would no longer be able to offer it in the UK.

What is AI and GROK.

Where from do they collect inputs for their database.

At present GROK is telling the truth to establish its credibility and reliability. May be, as time progresses, it may push lies as per their agenda.

Bitchute banned in the UK!

To our valued users in the United Kingdom,
After careful review and ongoing evaluation of the regulatory landscape in the United Kingdom, we regret to inform you that BitChute will be discontinuing its video sharing service for UK residents.

The introduction of the UK Online Safety Act of 2023 has brought about significant changes in the regulatory framework governing online content and community interactions. Notably, the Act contains sweeping provisions and onerous corrective measures with respect to content moderation and enforcement. In particular, the broad enforcement powers granted to the regulator of communication services, Ofcom, have raised concerns regarding the open-ended and unpredictable nature of regulatory compliance for our platform.

The BitChute platform has always operated on principles of freedom of speech, expression and association, and strived to foster an open and inclusive environment for content creators and audiences alike. However, the evolving regulatory pressures—including strict enforcement mechanisms and potential liabilities—have created an operational landscape in which continuing to serve the UK market exposes our company to unacceptable legal and compliance risks. Despite our best efforts to navigate these challenges, the uncertainty surrounding the OSA’s enforcement by Ofcom and its far-reaching implications leaves us no viable alternative but to cease normal operations in the UK.

Therefore, effective immediately, BitChute platform users in the UK will no longer be available to view content produced by any other BitChute user. Because the OSA’s primary concern is that members of the public will view content deemed unsafe, however, we will permit UK BitChute users to continue to post content. The significant change will be that this UK user-posted content will not be viewable by any other UK user, but will be visible to other users outside of the UK. Users outside the UK may comment on that content, which the creator will continue to be able to read, delete, block, reply and flag. Users outside the UK may share UK-user produced content to other users outside of the UK as normal. In other words, for users in the UK, including content creators, the BitChute platform is no longer a user-to-UK user video sharing service.
