Salam.
.why are masjids suddenly doing azaan on loud speakers? Don't see the wisdom behind it. They never did it before lockdown and now when people can't go masjid they decide to it. Unless they are looking to continue this after lockdown I find it rather a vanity project more than anything. Plus in certain area your just going to give islamaphobes more fuel.

InshAllah it will become a permanent thing but if its just temporary I'm don't really see the point

Yes iv seen videos of queen's rd n lea Bridge but your talking out of emotions. Point of azaan is to call towards masjid but masjids are closed. They didn't do before lockdown nor will they do after lockdown. That's my gripe with this. Yes hearing azaan loud is amazing but it should be done always not just for show which it is now.

We've been deprived from going to the Masjid.

The UK government acknowledged that the Muslims of UK have adhered to the rules.

So if the local council has seen the sacrifice we've made especially during Ramadhan and they have given permission for the Muslims to give Adhan on the loudspeaker is welcoming.

Not only that, this stuff spreads around the world like it already has and people will talk about the Adhan in London in the media, in households etc.

Who knows if one day a poll is done and the locals are asked if they would like to continue with the Adhan at reasonable hours and they all say YES. Wouldn't it be amazing?

Adhan is to call people to prayer. Not just to the Masjids

The Adhan was worded to say, "Pray at home" although Lea Bridge Road Qari saab gave the whole Adhan, possibly forgot what was agreed under the emotion of having the privilege to do so.

InshAllah, it be amazing. One of the most beautiful experiences for me is hearing the azaan faintly from a distance. Experienced it in Jordan and Turkey when on excursions up mountains and remote ancient cities.

I saw the video of Adhan from Jamia Masjid Ghousia Lea Bridge Road Leyton. I was just surprised by the good level of tajweed and dua at the end rather than salat-o-salam

The brealwis have come along way in last decade or so with their tajweed. Especially the non extreme ones. However the Shia type brealwis from Walthamstoe darul uloom are still old school with their recitation

His voice and recitation in Salah is excellent. One may dislike praying in a Barelwi masjid, but the two imams that lead the salah they have great voices and tajweed, people forget about the fact they are Barelwi.

The mosque is filled with people of all backgrounds. They offer their Salah and leave. The dhikr after the salah doesn't bother many, they just stand up and carry on with their Sunnah and leave.

OP has asked a question. This remains unanswered.

why are masjids suddenly doing azaan on loud speakers?

Has the pandemic softened the hearts of people? Or they feel azaan will drive away the pandemic? What it is?

Post Babri demolition, many masjids were forcibly closed in Latur, Mahrashtra. When Earth Quake stuck there, in the middle of night, the locals were knocking at the doors of local muslims and pleading them to say Azaan at 3:00 AM in the night.

Is a similar situation there.
