For those that are wondering, the reason this happens is because the site grew gradually with lots of updates. Eventually the code becomes clogged and sometimes repeated. This is what's happening here. While I'm looking at it during these fixes I can see how features have been squeezed in and can be much more optimised.

Well, actually if I revisit within an hour or so, the login is retained indeed but if I visit after a longer time period, say, the next day, I have to log in again. This is with "remember me" being checked.

Proving you're a human before posting will mean the post will be submitted as guest. So I don't think that was it.

But now, after a day I'm still logged in so yesterday's update should be enough for this issue and hopefully the site will remember you are a Haywaan an-Naatiq

Been signed in for over 24 hours on the site without interruption despite only logging in intermittently for a few minutes at a time using different devices.

Account has been preventing me from loggin in. Most of the week.
