A few of these Brothers should not appear on any of these shows. They should stick to what they are good at and what they excel in. As the old saying goes “ sometimes the ambition can be greater then the man”
And others have potential to become very good at this, but need a lot more practice, do an honest review of their appearances, before making it a habit of going on these shows.
Sometimes it’s better to know your limitation. Not everyone is cut out for this arena, of Tv and Radio appearances it is a very challenging task. If you are Muslim 99% of the time you will be treated with hostility, and swarmed with loaded questions not everyone can handle it.
I learned this the hardway, about 20 years ago. I phoned in to one of these radio phone ins, and within minutes I got emotional and lost my temper. And got ejected, and embarrassed myself, and by extension the Muslim community.
I realised I could construct an argument in writing, but talking and debating, was too tall an order for me. Knowing what arguments to make is not enough, in the heat of the moment once the emotions take over, you can completely forget all the talking points and arguments you had prepared in your mind. It takes skill to remain calm maintain composure , and to counter the arguments, of your interlocutor.
And Ironically a couple of weeks ago Jeremy Corbyn, appeared on Piers Morgan show and got bullied and badgered. And gave an abysmal.
The Muslim 5 Pillars channel in their review of this. By Roshan M Salih, and Robert Carter, completely mullered Corbyn for his performance. And the gist of their argument was that Palestine is facing a castratophe, we do not need such bad representation in the media. Corbyn is an old man who should just go away and retire.
And subsequently and quite Ironically the two worst performances, on TalkTv, were by Roshan M Salih, in the James Whale, show and Dilly Hussain on Piers Morgan. It seems like they just relied on their Journalistic experience and did not bother to prepare. At least the Influencers and Youtubers had tried to practice and prepare in advance.
Dilly Hussain’s appearance yesterday was even more baffling after 5pillars had called for a boycott of Morgan. He decided to appear anyway to discuss why Morgan should be banned.
Whole situation of Muslims appearing on these shows is quite fascinating, and bizarre, and in the comments section for the videos, it is considered almost blasphemous to highlight the performance was not too good. Every body is supposed to cheerlead and say great job Brother.
