Vladimir Putin met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman on a rare foreign trip that aimed to defy efforts to isolate the Russian president on the global stage.

This meeting was probably about the drop in worldwide oil prices, not Palestine, so don't get too excited.

The Palestinian Authority is working with US officials on a plan to run besieged Gaza after the war is over, Bloomberg News reported, citing Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh.

The preferred outcome of the conflict would be for Hamas which controls Gaza to become a junior partner under the Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO), helping to build a new independent state that includes the occupied West Bank, besieged Gaza and East Jerusalem, Ramallah-based Shtayyeh said in an interview to Bloomberg News.

"If they (Hamas) are ready to come to an agreement and accept the political platform of the PLO, then there will be room for talk. Palestinians should not be divided," Shtayyeh said, adding that Israel's aim to fully defeat Hamas is unrealistic.

They want Hamas to lay down arms so they too become impotent like Fatah and rest of the PLO

The Israeli army is planning to continue fighting in Gaza for an extended period, possibly more than a year, with the goal of preventing Hamas from rebuilding. The next phases involve incursions throughout the Gaza Strip. The entire regular army will be involved, and reserve members might be called up for at least a month.

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) believe the second phase of the operation is still ongoing, and reservists will continue serving in large numbers until the third phase, where they might be demobilized. The army insists these measures are necessary to achieve the war's objectives. 2024 is being labeled as a year of war, and the IDF has already targeted 22,000 locations and killed 20,000.

UN General Assembly passes resolution demanding an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza, as well as the immediate entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

FOR: 153
AGAINST: 10
ABSTAIN: 23

The resolution is not mandatory and it is the same, one that was vetoed by the US two days ago.
