Same nonsense this year with the Saudi's claiming they were correct after sharing pictures of the hilal from the following day (not night), thus trying to prove they were correct without actually sighting the moon or not even producing a photo of the moon (not inc. CCD images).
As with many senior members/mentors, I get it now. I get why they can't be bothered to debate this topic. It's crystal clear.
The Saudi followers follow the new moon and won't follow the Hilal nor Saudi scholars that say the moon sighting for Saudi cannot be used for Morocco/UK etc Yet the Saudi followers reject that fatwa and accept a false sighting. The irony is just.... *facepalm* *facepalm* *facepalm*
The Saudi followers accept the Moonset (moon position) time in Saudi to start the month of fasting but won't follow the Sunset time of Saudi for breaking their fast, yet Allah tells us in Surah Rahman Verse 5 "The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation," #so if they can follow the moon to start, they should also follow the sunset and sunrise times *facepalm*

One the one hand, even the Salafi Masjids make Taqleed of this false sighting, yet the don't make Taqleed of even their own scholars who say this is not from the Sunnah. There must be a name for this selective Taqleed. I can only see it as Nationalism and not for the Deen or from the Deen. Just EGO!
So getting back to topic (which includes the above chaos in the same Hadith)
This year I have seen many sudden deaths in my friends and family circle from around the world. Young and old.
I wanted to highlight the Hadith so very relevant in these times!
The Prophet, sallAllah alayhi wasallam, said:
“From the nearness of the Hour is that the crescent moon will be sighted enlarged and it will be said it is the second night, that the mosques will be taken as mere fairways, and that sudden death will become prevalent.”
