When I was a kid I used to look at the peeling paint in my grandparents bathroom. I could see mountains, a panda bear, a polar bear and trees! I was probably around 8 years old at the time. But even then I knew they weren't real and only vaguely resembled those things.

Disclaimer: I am NOT a NASA lover. I don't really care about NASA either way. But I do understand that sometimes inanimate objects such as rocks can resemble other things.

Disclaimer 2: I am not commenting on anything else. I am commenting on that one particular image and the claim that there is a small mammal in that image.

You quoted me, but the reply is completely irrelevant to what I said. Why would you do that?

I quoted you because you said:

I am not commenting on anything else. I am commenting on that one particular image and the claim that there is a small mammal in that image.

So I'm trying to say that there is a much higher chance that the images are from Earth (places like Devon Island where NASA actually do carry out drone runs and take photos etc etc.

To say it's an imagination is less accurate.

I posted a crappy video, yes, but it was to show you Devon Island and how these NASA guys are there. So why should we believe Grandpa's cracked wallpaper analogy :)

Why do people who believe it's a hoax, doubt that the technology exists to launch an object beyond earth orbit?

Maybe I should rephrase this?

I'm not talking about 50 years in the past, I'm talking about recent times.
I'm not talking about a manned mission to anywhere.

I'm simply asking at what point does the current technology not allow this to happen?

Devon Island

I highly doubt there are any rovers on Mars! These have been faked too. I don't believe they have the tech to get that far AND to send and receive live data (or close to live)

I highly doubt they have the tech as mentioned above. I don't think they have managed to get the rovers up to Mars, instead, they have sent them to Canada, get them to drive at slow paces and have used filters in some pics to change the colour to a reddish coloured sky etc, otherwise some of the photos on NASA's page show blue skies. The shadows seem normal as a day on Mars is 25 hours.

However, recent checks on the images showed that Sun was directly above at around noon time but there was still a shadow after the sun would've set in Denver, so possibly those images could've been taken elsewhere or changed :)

I just find it all very dodgy ;)

Earth or Mars

Source is NASA so you'll say it is Mars, yet I could say it is Earth

I zoomed in on this picture as much as I could. Beyond this point it became too pixelated.
The object clearly resembles an animal. However, I think it's still not clear if it is an animal, or a rock.
I'm sure other opinions will vary.

I'm only addressing the SQUIRREL/RAT claim in THAT image.

Here's a link that explains how communication is relayed to and from the Mars rovers. It isn't live.
https://mars.nasa.gov/msl/mission/communications/
If they refer to something as live, they are referring to watching the information as they are receiving it.

At what specific point do you think they lack the technology?
Launch, using a combination of inertia and maneuvering thrusters to travel the distance?

(Edit) Forgot to add link.

Well, I'm trying to avoid a debate on 50 year old tech, and that's why I asked about present day.

I'm not about to debate authenticity of pictures.
I'm asking a very specific question.

To me, it resembles a rabbit. I found your analogy to the paint to be correct.
Much like looking at cloud formations and "seeing" images.

I'll even take it a step further.
Once you "see" an image in a cloud formation and then tell someone.
That person will often agree that they "see" it too.
So, by the mere power of suggestion, you've influenced another person's perception of what they're observing.
