Is it ok to skip nawafil in namaz? Like we have to pray 2 in zuhur, 2 in maghrib and 4 in isha, so is it ok to skip them?

Nafl - A Voluntary act

Linguistically, nafl means extra, and legally, it is actions that are not obligatory, not wajib and not sunna. And this is synonymous with the term voluntary or optional, which is an act of worship performed by a person without being required to do so.

But at the same time....

….and My slave keeps on coming closer to Me through performing Nawafil (voluntary deeds) until I love him, so I become his sense of hearing with which he hears, and his sense of sight with which he sees, and his hand with which he grips, and his leg with which he walks; and if he asks Me, I will give him, and if he asks My Protection, I will protect him..." wassalaam.
