As-salam-u-'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa barakatuh, fellow Muslims, I don't know if this is really the right forum area, but what do brothers here do if they visit their relatives and there may be uncle's wife, so is it permissible to greet her and answer her questions?

Also there is a situation sometimes that at the relative's residence, their own guests arrive, with non-mahram, how do brothers here act in such situations?

Kindly quote related hadith and/or fatawa.

Jazakumullahu khairan.

As-salam-u-'Alaykum, mufti sahab, when I am at my relative's home, and their own guests also come over, with sometimes non-mahram who don't observe hijab, can I greet them without looking, and how should I go about in this situation?

JazakAllahu khairan.

Your e-mails dated 22 and 24 June 2014 refer.

In fact, you should not go to the homes of relatives where purdah is not observed. You may not greet the women (ghair mahrams) even without looking at them.

...*(other answer for the email dated 24 June here)*...

It's saddening that if you don't greet the ghair mahram you'll be called an ill-mannered person by your own elders. You'd have to keep ignoring whatever they say.
