4.The Prophet of Allah Sallallahu Alahi Wasalam has said "Whoever reads the Holy Quran and memorises it, while he regards what it makes lawful as lawful and its unlawful as forbidden, Allah will admit him into Jannah and will accept his intercession on behalf of ten such persons of his family who were doomed to the Fire of Hell". (Sunan Tirmizi)

Question

What is the authenticity of the hadith about the hafiz of Quran who will be allowed to intercede for ten of his family members?

Answer

Sayyiduna 'Ali (radiyallahu 'anhu) reports that Nabi (sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam) said: "Whoever reads the Quran, memorizes it, regards it's permissible as permissible and it's impermissible as impermissible Allah Ta'ala will enter him into Jannah and allow him to intercede for ten family members, who were destined for Jahannam".

(Sunan Tirmidhi, hadith: 2905, Sunan Ibn Majah, hadith: 216, Musnad Ahmad, vol. 1 pg. 147/149)

Imam Tirmidhi (rahimahullah) has classified the above hadith as weak. He goes on to say that this narration does not have any authentic chain.

(Sunan Tirmidhi, hadith: 2905)

Despite it's weakness, this Hadith is suitable to quote.

And Allah Ta'ala Knows best

Weakness can simply mean something as simple as one of.the narrator's is missing.

The main thing is that it's not used for Aqeedah and is not fabricated.
