السلام عليكم

I'm looking for the correct method of doing 'Qada Umri', please post with reference/daleel.

There was a method mentioned in here but by the looks of it Mufti Desai does not seem convinced even though he didnt go far enough to declare it invalid.

WS Brother,

I am the least intelligent out of the believers so firstly I ask for your forgiveness and secondly I don't understand the question?

Akhii maybe I've misunderstood it,

This method was mentioned in this thread :

www.muftisays.com/forums/27-sharing-portal/1172-qadhaa-ch...

Quote:
For the people who have many years of missed Salahs. There is a way to pray them quickly. Following instructions have four exeptions and has all Fards and Wajibs for a complete Salat. Please pray your Qaza as soon as possible. Even of you could pray one days Qaza Salahs every day which are only 20 rakahs (3 wajib witr), please do it. It only takes few mins to perform 20 rakahs according to the following instructions.

1) In Ruku and Sajdah instead of reciting "Subhaana Rabbiyal Azeem" and "Subhaana Rabbiyal A'la" three times, say it only once. But make sure do not leave Ruku poster untill the Meem (M) of Azeem has been said properly. Similarly do not leave the posture of Sajdah until Ala has been said completely. Just make sure to say these Tasbeehaat properly and do not rush.

2) In third and four Rakah of Fard Salah instead of reciting the whole Soorah Fatiha say, "Subhan Allah" three times and go to Ruku, . Make sure "Subhan Allah" has been recited three times properly, do not rush. This exeption is only for Fard. In third rakah of Witr it's a must to recite full Soorah Fatiha followed by at least three ayahs of Quran or a soorah (as we usually do in first and second rakah).

3) In last Qaidah (when we sit for Attahyyat) before Salam, after Attahyyat instead of full Durood and Dua just say, "Allah Humma Salle Ala Sayedena Mohammad Wa Aalihi", then finish the Salat with Salam. Dua is not a must here.

4) In Witr, instead of full Dua-e-Qunoot just say "Rabbigh Fir Lee" one or three times
As Salah and the making up for it is of great importance, I've been doing some daleel/reference hunting.

Then I came across this :

www.askimam.org/public/question_detail/17555

After reading this it looks like he is not a fan of this method as he says
The prescribed method of making qadha prayers in the article includes the fard and waajib parts of the salah and leaves out many of the sunnahs. Although the salah will be valid with this method, it may be void of full reward Qadha salah should be performed like adaa salah in every way possible; hence the sunnahs should be observed as well.
As for point #2 in the article, it is mustahab to recite Surah Al-Fatihah in the last two rak'aats of the fardh prayers. At a minimum, one must stand for the time it takes to say tasbeeh (SubhanaAllah) once. However, as stated before one should not unnecessarily leave out the sunnahs of salah. We should strive to make each and every salah as perfect as possible.

So akhii I'm trying to find out the correct method to perform Qadha Umri that will be valid and not void of blessing. The above fatwa does seem a bit vague so therefore I'm seeking further clarification as to what is the right method ?

I hope that makes sense now

Then your answer is blatantly obvious. How can you have reward and virtues when intend to deviate from the Sunnah?

Dear brother,

Maulana Sahib writes near the end:

"As far as praying qadha umri salah, the Fuqahaa have mentioned an easy method to offer missed salahs. They explain that one should perform one qadha salah before or after every fardh salah [I assume he means after the Sunnahs at least - Samah]. In this way, one can keep track of the amount of completed qadha prayers with ease, while this method will also ensure that too much time will not be taken in making up missed prayers."

In my limited understanding there is no difference between these two way while retaining full blessings and rewards:

 1. Praying 2 Rakaat of Fajar (individually) tomorrow morning i.e. 09th of April 2014
 2. Praying 2 Rakaat of Fajar (individually) when missed tomorrow morning i.e. 09th of April 2014 25 years onwards

What the Fuqaha have done is given some leeway if a person has missed too many but this leeway means missing blessings and rewards. Therefore (I am Sorry) but I am still trying to understand a new way of praying which is contrary to Sunnah but still retains full blessings and rewards.

How is that possible???

Akhii I'm a bit confused as well,

You mention the Fuqaha, my question is 'what fuqaha ' ?

Also the method that mentions this ::

Quote:

4) In Witr, instead of full Dua-e-Qunoot just say "Rabbigh Fir Lee" one or three times

At the bottom Fatwa Riziwiya/Razawiya was quoted this is usually a brelvi fatwa (correct me if wrong)

My question is if this method is incorrect and void of blessings then what will be the correct method of praying 'qada umri' ?

Akhii the reason I'm being peculiar about this is, I just calculated how many salah I missed due to my past life of ghaflah and it came just under 100,000,this number of Salah I owe to Allah, so I want to make sure if I adopt a method to make up the salah it is correct, I got a long way to go akhii make dua.

Hope that makes sense now as to where I'm coming from now Insha'Ala

(salaam)

Question: Asalamualaikum. Please can you help me. I have heard that you can pray qaza umrai namaz in a shortened version. - you pray the first 2 rakah normal, but in the 3rd/4th rakah you don't pray surah fatiha. In ruku and sajda, you only pray "subhana rabbiyal azeem" once and "subhana rabbiya ala" once. Then attahiyat, full, then in darud only up to allahumma sallai ala muhammadin wala alehi. In Witr, you pray as normal up to the third ruku and sajda, then the shortened version. Please help as I have many years of qaza e umri to pray. Please make dua that I can complete them.

Answer: What you have heard is correct. In such circumstances, when you have a large number of prayers to make up from the past, you would be allowed to pray the bare minimum, in order to help you complete your missed prayers.
In your normal prayers, though, pray everything fully. (A/Hafiz1/12)

Jazakala akhii that's helpful and a start in the right direction

If someone has a 'daleel' for this method then please put it up otherwise I will email a mufti and find out. After seeing fatwa razawiya being quoted at the bottom I'm just being a bit cautious, as I've seen many nutty things quoted with that fatwa quoted at the bottom.

A brother mentioned its in al-qudoori, if someone has a version can you please check for me ? I got the short version of questions and answers on it by Maulana Ashiq Ilahi and it makes no mention of it.

FARZ (Compulsory) IN NAMAAZ

There are six Farz in namaaz.

1. TAKBEERE TAHRIMA.
2. QIYAAM (standing position).
3. QIRAAT (reciting of at least three aayats or one long aayat of the Quraan.
4. RUKU (to bow down).
5. Both the SAJDAHS (prostrate).
6. QAA'DAH AKHEERAH (to sit so long at the end of the last Rakaat that one can read the TASHAHHUD).

WAAJIB (Necessary) IN NAMAAZ

Q. What does WAAJIBBATE NAMAAZ mean?
A. WAAJIBAAT are those items that are necessary to complete the Namaaz. If one misses any one of them unknowingly, this mistake can be compensated by performing SAJDA SAHW (sajda done for mistakes made unknowingly).

If one does not perform SAJDA SAHW or if one misses a WAAJIB knowingly, it is necessary to perform that Namaaz all over again.

There are fourteen WAAJIBAAT in Namaaz

1. Fixing the first Rakaats of the Farz Namaaz for QIRAAT.
2. It is Waajib to recite Surah Faatiha in all the Rakaat of every Namaaz. However, in the third and fourth Rakaat of any Farz Namaaz, it is Sunnat and not Waajib.
3. To recite a Surah or a lengthy Aayat or three small Aayats after SURAH FAATIHA in the first two Rakaats of FARZ Namaaz and in all the Rakaats of WAAJIB, SUNNAT and NAFL Namaaz.
4. To read SURA FATIHA before any other Surah or Aayat
5. To maintain order between QIRAAT, RUKU, SAJDA and RAKAAT.
6. QAUMA (Standing up erect after RUKU).
7. JALSA (Sitting between the two SAJDAS).
8. TA'DEELE ARKAAN, i.e. performing RUKU, SAJDA, etc with contentment and in a good way.
9. QAADAH-OOLAA or sitting to the extent of saying TASHAHHUD after two Rakaats in Namaaz of three or four Rakaats.
10. To read TASHAHHUD in the two QAI'DAAS.
11. To recite QIRAAT aloud in Fajr, Maghrib, Esha, Jumuah, Eidain and Taraweeh Salaat in Ramadaan by the Imam. The Imam should recite Zohar and Asr Namaaz silently.
12. To end the Namaaz by saying 'SALAAM'
13. To say TAKBEER (Allahu-Akbar) for QUNOOT in Witr Namaaz and also recite DUA-E-QUNOOT.
14. To say six additional TAKBEERS in both Eid Namaaz.

This is his question:

So akhii I'm trying to find out the correct method to perform Qadha Umri that will be valid and not void of blessing

He is looking for 3 things:

 1. Correct Method
 2. Method which will be valid
 3. Method which will not be void of blessing

Both the askimam and Tafseer-Raheemi methods fulfill 1 & 2 but not 3 (you and him can specifically ask for clarification for method 3 if you wish from Tafseer-Raheemi)

I would be most interested in a method which fulfils all 3 of his conditions otherwise he already has his answer.

Here is a table if somebody wants which I just drew up in excel...
