Salaams.

If someone has kissed the black stone, asked for forgiveness in Masjid Al-Haram and Nabi and on the night of power (Qadr) is he forgiven from his past sins and as long as he vows not to miss any again or does he have to perform a kazah after each salah.

Qada Umari: Making up Salats Missed in a Lifetime

Haamidaw wa Musalliyaa

"Hazrat Anas ibn Maalik (R.A.) narrates in a hadith of Sahih Bukhari that Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned:

من نسي صلاة فليصل اذا ذكرها لا كفارة لها الا ذلك

"Whoever forgets to pray a Salah, it is obligatory upon him that he pray that Salah when he remembers. There is no other way that this can be made up." (Sahih Bukhari , Kitaabul Mawaaqeet - Hadith 597)

The words of Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam in a Hadith of Muslim are as follows:

" Whenever one of you misses a Salah due to sleeping or due to negligence, it is obligatory upon him that he pray the Salah when he remembers it because Allah (SWT) has metioned, "Perform Salah when you remember me" (Hadith 1569)

In a Hadith of Sunan Nas'ai it is mentioned:

" Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam was asked regarding a person who misses a Salah due to sleep or negligence. Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam mentioned that its compensation is that he should perform the Salah when he remembers. "(Nasaai pg 171)

These Ahadith as well as many others are clear that any Salah that has been missed must be performed when one remembers. In fact the ayah of the Qur'an recited by Rasulullah Sall-Allahu alayhi wa sallam in the hadith of Muslim above, also indicates that this ayah of the Holy Quran refers to Qada Salah as well, as it was recited in the context of Qada.

There is a consensus among the jurists that Qada must be made for missed Salahs.

not sure if the following forgiveness applies to missed prayers, but i have not heard otherwise...

Then it must take a real believe to have never made a salah in his life through his teenage years. I suspect many Muslims should be reading a kazah after each salah.

I actually asked someone today and they said as it is Farz then you can read it any time if that means after Asar and no you're not restricted that only zuhr has to be prayed after Zhur and Esha after Esha etc.

I also asked about the age 7 issue and the baligh issue, they said namaz/salah becomes fardh when baligh but encouragement is to be given after age 7.

Hopefully Maulana Yasin or one the other brothers can confirm if right.

Thank Allah Ta'ala for giving you the concern to fulfil the missed Salaats. How will one face Allah Ta'ala on the day of Qiyaamat should he/she pass away without fulfilling the Qadhaa Salaats? An easy method to fulfil the Qadhaa Salaats is, after each daily Fardh Salaat, for example, after Dhuhr Salaat of today, perform one Dhuhr Qadhaa Salaat.

2. If a person misses several salaats, as far as possible he should make qada of all. If it is possible, he should make an effort to offer all of them at one time. It is not necessary that the qada of zuhr be offered in zuhr time or that the qada of asr be offered at asr time. If he has to make qada for several months or several years, as far as possible he should make qada of them as quickly as possible. He should try and offer several qada salaats in one salaat time. However, if he is compelled or has no alternative, he should offer one qada salaat in one salaat time. But this is the minimum.

3. There is no stipulated time for qada salaat. Whenever one gets the opportunity, one should make wudu and offer salaat. However, one should take the makruh times of salaat into consideration.
