Hijama in a state of impurity?

(salaam)

When one is performing Hijama, do they need to be in a state of wudhu. Included within this category, can a person in a state of janabah (including women in their menses) perform Hijama. Also would the person being cupped need to be in a state of purity?


Please give source as well as fatwa.

While Tahaarat is not a condition for effecting hijaamah, it is strongly advised to be in the state of Tahaarat. There is much barkat when one is in the state of purity (Tahaarat). The same applies for the one who cups and the one being cupped.
