OCD and Urine Drops

www.youtube.com/watch?v=onnbqmety3k

Question: After I have relieved myself, I feel that one or two drops of urine have been excreted. Am I being sinful?

Response: After you have relieved yourself and completed your urination (process), you should sit and wait for a little time. The waiting time is until you are satisfied that no more drops will be excreted. After such time has passed, you should wash yourself, leave the toilet area and forget about it!

There is no reason for you to do any research and exert your mind about the matter, it is done!

Doubts, supposition, hypothesis does not invalidate your Wudhu.

The method to alleviate doubt according to Sunnah is to sprinkle some (droplets of) water on your (bottom) clothes. This is to ensure that if Shaytaan places doubt into your mind that the clothes are wet you can (logically) justify that the wetness is due to your own actions.

Once you have reached this satisfaction then the Wudhu will not break until you are 100% certain that drops of urine have been excreted (and soiled you).

So what is 100% certainty in this matter?

The certainty is that you can take an Oath that urine drops been excreted and soiled you. The certainty is that you can take an oath that you have passed gas (and broken your Wudhu).

What is taking an Oath?

The sun is out right now. If I ask you to take an Oath, you will take an Oath that the sun is out. You will say, “By Allah! The sun is out.” There is no confusion in the matter.

When I ask certain people (who suffer from OCD) if they can take an oath if urine drops have soiled them, they respond by saying, “I need to think before taking an Oath.” This is a sign that there is uncertainty.

Thus your Wudhu will remain intact until you have reached certainty that urine drops have emerged or that gas has passed.

However, those suffering from OCD remain confused. The solution is to believe in Allah Ta’ala and His Rasool (Sallallaho Alaihe Wassallam). If Shaytaan places doubts in your mind and tries to divert your attention to the urine drops say, “I don’t care! My Allah Ta’ala will accept my Salah and it is Allah Ta’ala whom I need to get it accepted from.”

Thus, once you have satisfied yourself that urine drops have ceased, doubt will not break the Wudhu.

However, some youth urinate and run off (immediately). This immediacy should be avoided and a person should sit for some time because it does take a little time for all the drops of urine to excrete.

Therefore, wait until you are certain that all the drops have been excreted and then forget about the issue and move on.
