E471- Mono and diglycerides of fatty acids (glyceryl monostearate, glyceryl distearate) is primarily derived from Glycerol. My understanding is that E471 is derived from Glycerine (Glycerol) which could be from a plant or animal source.
- Plant source is obviously Halal.
- The animal source of glycerine originates as a by-product of soap manufacturing.

There is a Fatwa on your site as follows which states that all Soaps and Shampoos are Halal because they go through a complete metamorphosis.

Is there a technical reason why Soap itself is Halal while E422 [Glycerol (Humectant, Solvent, Sweet Glycerin) - Sweetener] which is a byproduct of the same process is considered Haram? This in turn makes E471 Haram?
Your Fatwa here indicates that E422 is also Halal due to metamorphosis:
