Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,

We have never used this product nor have any information on it.

  1. Does anyone uses it?
  2. Is it Halal?

Jazakallahu Khayran

used veg stock cubes but never the meat ones, I would presume they would be haram, as the whole purpose of stock is to derive flavour from water derived from boiled meat or left over bones and carcasses.

As-salam-u-'Alaykum

My father brought few boxes, it is under the Uniliver company, and has the typical halaal symbol many things have here (local Pakistani), which I often suspect is just a blind man's stamp...

and only Allah Ta'ala knows best.

Yes.. These typical halal logos should not be trusted. Source; either a mufti of Sanha or of Halal foundation Pakistan.

We don't use this product and I don't know many Muslims who do and this is not certified by anyone so I wouldn't use it unless someone can present some info.

Look what I found (at home of all places)

At home, we use Shan, Ahmed, Lazeez masala etc. packs and among then was one box of Knorr. I think this was a one off purchase as its not used and its out of date :)

However, this box, although purchased locally in London (Green Street to be precise) is manufactured in Pakistan by Unilever.

There are various flavours with halal written on the boxes. The ingredients clearly states they contain chicken, obviously!

It's interesting that the foreign pack seems to contain more chicken content then the UK one.

salaam

i have seen the chicken ones around in bradford. they seem to be fairly popular around here. i think people consider them halal as they are from pakistan and carry the halal logo.

e120 is made in Karachi (also).. one cannot trust these "self claimed" halal logos.. because in Pakistan too there are products that use haram ingredients.. for e.g. in pakola milk strawberry flavor e120 was being used.. ( now they don't use it Alhamdulillah)
shan is certified by SANHA (Pakistan)
