It's a sad situation! I know of people who only eat fruit and vegetables when they go to Makkah and Madinah.

Some take it to the extreme, some investigate and some don't care.

Off the top of my head, I can only point in the direction of www.zabiha.com see if that helps, otherwise inshaAllah, if time permits, we can look into this further.

I've just read a little on tripadvisor.com that there are many Lebanese restaurants but they are Christian owners. There are some Muslim Arabs there in various areas as well as Indian food.

However, the method of halal is not clear. When I sent the Thai's an email back in 2012, the Thai halal guys didn't respond or they never got my mail.

It is well known that there are plenty of Muslims out there, but not sure what methods of halal they use, i.e. Mechanical Slaughter etc etc...

This particular restaurant claims to be the first halal place in Pattaya, www.a-onehotel.com/pattaya/halalfood/halal_restaurant.html but Allah knows best.

This is what one of the halal certificates looks like: www.muftisays.com/forums/82-the-food-section/7030-halal-c...

The Tableeghi Markaz is almost right behind the Bangkok General Post Office. When you land in the city take the Taxi to the area of Bangkok General Post Office

  1. You will see plenty of Muslims in the area (Pakistani Pathans usually) walking around Shalwar Qameez
  2. Around Namaz times lots of people moving about
  3. Plenty of Hotels and Resturants run by Pakistani (and some by Tableeghees) which are Halal
  4. South of Thailand is run by plenty of Muslims but I guess your friend won't be going there.

There are 2 other Deobandi Musallas in the same area but around any Namaaz time you won't be able to miss people making their way to the Masjid; stop and ask anyone.

There is a very nice Hyderabadi Resturant (one street away from Markaz) whose owner is Tableeghi so its Halal.
