As-salam-u-'Alaykum, I recently have doubts about it, as it has clarified juice and/ or water as one of its' contents. Any one who came across this brands' pineapples may advise.

PS: It's a product from Philippines, and a halaal certificate from there(don't know if authentic), link is www.delmontefoods.com/fooding/pdf/11_2010_Updates/Halal%2...

Specificially which ingredient do you a problem with? Forget about the Halal symbol for the time being. Our kids just eat fresh pineapples and not the Juice...

Just for the contentment of the heart, there are no issues with the clarified juice and/or water, right?
My doubts arose due to comparing it with clarified apple juice.

JazakAllahu khairan.

Yes I would imagin gelatin stabilizer for the clarification process would be a problem. However, I do remember del monte being an exception.

After searching a bit.. here is the information from "The Vegetarian"

Quote:
Of the other companies who responded, Ben Shaws, Wells Soft Drinks, and Barrs all claimed their soft drinks were suitable for vegetarians. Fruit juices made by Del Monte, Suma and Princes (including Cima and Spartan brands) were also claimed to be suitable.

See full text and some other info here : www.heenamodi.com/2011/11/21/are-you-consuming-juices-tha...

However, why not call their hotline number and confirm. I will try to do the same as well.

I have contacted the people at the "Lassonde" who are distributor / manufacturer/marketer of Del Monte based in Quebec.

According to them, by policy if gelatin has been used in the clarification, then the ingredients will specify that there is gelatin.

Mostly products with omega 3 additions contain gelatin (as per Del Monte) and these gelatin are either porcine or fish oil gelatin.

So if the particular del monte pineapple juice does not state gelatin, then it is free from it.

No brother, I cannot tell if its from phillipines or not since every country import works differently. Mostly the packaging does not mention where they are imported from rather who it is imported by. Probably you can call the toll free number on the can and request from them inshAllah.
