Brother, at least you try. Most of us wouldn't attempt it.

Anyways, with rice, try this method.

Take 1 cup or rice and fill the pot with it, then take the same cup and fill the cup with water, pour the water into the rice and let it boil. Another trick I've seen is to pour water over the lid and let it boil until the water evaporates. At this point, the rice would have boiled nicely.

(I think its 1 cup of water for 1 cup of rice, maybe an expert can correct me)

The problem is half of it ends up sticking to the bottom when I make it :D

When you live on your own you end up learning a lot of things akhii and appreciating a lot of things more which you used to take for granted. That was a long time ago though, I went Umrah and changed alhumdulillah and the first change I made was my friends, I changed the people I hanged out with, having no friends sucked though but it had to be done though , so I became mates with some freshys at the local mosque who were heavily involved in TJ, those boys taught me how to cook :D

Also I don't like pressure cooker food, despise it with a passion. I like my food cooked and cooked properly, what about you guys ?

Easiest rice recipe...

1 cup long grain rice
1 tbsp oil
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
2 cups water
(normally 2 cups water for every 1 cup of rice, but feel free to adjust according to the type of rice used)
1 tsp salt, or to taste

Easiest method....
Heat oil in a pan with cumin seeds let seeds infuse, then add the water and salt. Do not allow seeds to burn.

Bring water to boil, wash rice with cold water until water runs clear, drain properly, then add to boiling water. The water will probably cool down once you add rice, turn up heat until water starts to boil again, once the water is boiling, lower the heat to very low, until the water is still simmering.

Put on lid and allow rice to continue cook on low boil for about 10-15 minutes.

Try not to mix or tamper with the rice whilst its steaming, leave it alone!

Hope it helps, inshaallah.

Easiest rice boiling technique

Ingredients: 1. an oven, 2. a pot (without lid), 3. rice, 4. water, 5. a spoon, 7. light snacks, 8. a prayer mat 9. a tasbih

Procedure: Pour washed rice in the pot and add water till its level reaches near the top. Now put the pot on oven and make 2-4 rakahs nafl salah or some dhikr.

You can have some snacks if you are hungry.

When water will start protesting for freedom (boiling) then reduce heat and avoid spill. Now take some rice from the pot by spoon and check whether it has been boiled properly or not by pressing 2-3 grains between thumb and index finger (it's a matter of practice to identify properly boiled rice). Conduct this test at an interval of 2-3 minutes. When you'll get the expected softness, extinguish the oven, hold the pot with gloves and drain out water in this way:

As you've successfully eliminated protesters (water), let the situation settle down. Wait until evaporation of the remaining moisture.

You can make more 2 rakahs salah to celebrate successful completion of cooking.

A few years ago I ended up in a village on my travels that didn't have no electricity, gas, the whole thing was an experience itself. Tasted it their and it was awesome

Reminds me of Afghan/Patan food for some reason which is also quite nice as well.
