Brother Muadh_Khan: when cutting ginger, you'll notice it loses a lot of the juice so it is actually not that bad an idea to cut it a little thicker and insha'Allah while simmering (for a long time) the juices and oils will mix fully with the water.

The next time you feel like complaining about your mum's/wife's, husband's/father's or anyone's cooking, please think about the following incident and try being patient:

Hadhrat Mullah Mahmood Sahib (RA)

Hadhrat Thanwi (RA) mentions that after Mullah Mahmood, the first Ustaaz (teacher) of Deoband had passed away, I saw him in a dream and I asked him, "How did it fare with you?" He replied, "I have been forgiven." I then asked him the reason for his forgiveness to which he replied, "One day I when I sat down for meals, I was given some kichri (rice dish) to eat which had no salt in it. I never said anything or complained in anyway. I quietly lowered my head and ate it parctising on the Hadeeth where Rasulullah (SAW) prohibited us from finding fault with food. Rasulullah (SAW) himself never found fault in any food. If he liked it, he ate it and if he did not like it, he he did not partake of it. Allah Ta'ala liked this action of mine and forgave me.

MashaAllah, I like the "Pani Puri".

But since it wasn't the work of a brother, there is no appreciation :-( in the sense that its nothing new! Otherwise we'd be putting up dishes everyday. (Don't get me wrong, the thread doesn't specify gender, just my thoughts on it)

Sisters can do this stuff with their eyes shut! What I like to see is the efforts the brothers put into making this stuff for their family. Alhumdulillah.

What I'm saying brother, is brother's like yourself who can cook just as well as women, with your eyes shut.....so you claim....have been given the opportunity to share their cooking skills on this thread, but apart from brother Daywalk3r's efforts, we haven't really seen much, have we?
