another br asked this on FB last night: (wonder) why was the plant suspended when it seems to have been the fault of the truck driver (assuming the truck/courier isnt part of the plant) ?

I know of a Muslim farm who are one of the big suppliers of lamb (Non-HMC) and their trucks are painted with their logo etc so its not possible for the truck drivers (even though sub contracted) to ignore the Halal guidelines. They also don't have anything but lamb so if the truck driver is caught transporting pork then ultimately the plant does need to be suspended because ultimately they have a duty of care.

Its not that simple that the truck driver can simply stop and pick up cargo on the way! Because they know what Halal is and even the dumbest person knows in the business that Muslims don't eat pork, it would have been different if he would have picked up "Non-Zabiha" beef or something.
