It is impossible to monitor a Halaal experience.

Meat comes with invoices and shipping details which can be monitored. Halaal experience would mean a HMC representative visits hundreds of restaurants across the country to see if they abide by Sharee'ah in their business, actions and methods.

The purpose of HMC is to help the Muslims of the UK consume Halaal food.

Now, you either have HMC run by real Ulamaa or we criticize their policy and never buy meat as there's no assurance unless you trust the likes of HFA and other government non-Muslim dictated firms who tell us that it's Halaal.

It is up to the individual to not go to restaurants that indulge in music, dancing, free mixing and no Purdah. HMC are not responsible for the actions of each and every restaurant they certify.

The ones we should attack are the restaurants with women in skirts etc rather than the Ulamaa/HMC who are providing this extremely important service to the UK.

This situation is like hating and not agreeing with what they teach in History at school and attacking Ed-Excel for providing GCSE for that subject.

So maybe the attention in this topic needs to move away from HMC and focus more on educating Muslims about the Haraam nature of these restaurants.

In answer to Abu Mohammed's question, my personal opinion is that 95% of restaurants choose HMC certification and Halaal meat for business (personal view ppl, personal view). So according to my view, if WE Muslims stopped going or told them why we've stopped and they see a genuine decrease in 'business', they will make it more Halaal.

Whatever their intentions may be, Taqwa or business is between them and Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

Maulana Yasin, Should I change the title to have the word "Halal" instead of "HMC"? This was just an eye opener, nothing against HMC.
I think the topic title is fine otherwise people will wonder why the topic suddenly became about HMC. Also, it's spot on too as it is about why you found an HMC certified restaurant to be Haram (related or unrelated to meat). Overall, I think it's been a good discussion.

No comments on the questionable finances behind HMC.
Some people have become very rich from he back of this Hmc scam. If I read halal anywhere and in my heart I am satisfied that it is, I will eat there.

HMC are crooks. This is me telling you as a halal butcher in the trade for over 20 years

Regarding against hmc:

Do you have any evidence or first hand account of your statements? Without this, your statements/accusations hold no value and should not be posted on public forums. Jazakallah

I'd rather pay that little bit extra and have the guarantee that my worship of Allah will be accepted.

I can't afford to eat doubtful halal food, in case Allah doesn't accept my ibadah.

Our prophet has taught us;
Halal is clear, haram is clear, in between there is doubtful, stay away from the doubtful.

The financial accounts for HMC are for all to see on the charities commission website. 2011 turnover 770k, staff salaries 890k

HMC are in the process of being wound up due to a tax bill running into 6 figures. HMC claim not to charge VAT, however on the invoices they charge abattoirs, meat shops, suppliers and takeaways it's always includes VAT due. My brothers and sisters I reiterate that people have become wealthy behind HMC using the name of islam, That in itself is against everything we stand for.

Isn't this organisation run by Moulana Saleem Dhorat? Wouldn't the Shaykh know better about what he is doing?

W-Salam,

Our respected and beloved Shaykh (Maulana) Saleem Dhorat (HA) has NO connection with HMC whatsoever and never had.

If true, no one will disagree with you. But I think unless HMC are provided these facts and giving them a chance to respond, it's not wise to start this on here.

I for one appreciate the service and procedure to ensure we receive reliable meat. I've sat in one of their meetings too and their concern was how can Muslims take Halal more seriously. The financial situation can easily raise doubts but that's a secondary matter to the service itself. If true, I believe they should be contacted and asked.

If you get a chance (guest), please do contact them and then inform us here. This forum doesn't oppose these discussions but does advice to do in the right manner keeping public's take on it in mind as people do read and then they ask me about it and they take it quite seriously Alhamdulillah. Consider posting information here a type of a responsibility. Jazakallah

OK I'm getting a bit side tracked with this issue. But the the point is a HMC certified restaurant is not always halal.

The men working there dont have beards. Shaving the beard is Haram.

The men wear their trousers way below their ankles. This is not allowed.

There is always Music in the background. Music is Haram.

There are women waitresses dressed in mens clothes, This is Haram.

The women dont cover their Hair at all and are serving the men and taking orders, This is Haram.

Forget the veil.

There are no facilities for Salah for the customer or the staff. I had to pray Maghrib in my car!

The female workers (in my opinion, get hired for their looks). This was a major fitna. The waitress who served us was j=hijab less, in mens clothes and was looking.....

HMC Certified meat is great, but I dont think the stickers should be put on the window restaurants, because nothing in the restaurant is Halal except the meat, rice, bread, drinks etc.. and the money I paid my food with.

HMC or someone else needs to relook their certification. Maybe the stickers should say "Only the Meat is Halal, not the Rest"

A local Dixy (eg) would be okay, as they only serve food as a takeaway and not have the other Haram stuff. Oh but the beard and Isbaal remains.

where there men there with big sticks! who would have beaten you to a pulp had you not eaten there or had walked out when you saw all those things that you listed?

if you were not kept there by force then you also sinned.

why did you stay there?

I do understand your point. I will let Allah be the judge of that. We didn't intentionally dine there. It was the only hmc place around. We drove for miles and then found it.

Most of these things started after we ordered and started eating. We probably would've got a beating had we left after placing an order.

The point has been discussed and there's not much point reiterating everything again.

Jazakallahu khair.
