Thanks for the effort to explain.

This is the part that still confuses me. You said:

Non-alcoholic beer is not meant to intoxicate. It cannot intoxicate even if you were to drink bucket loads after bucket loads. The percentage of alcohol is that minute. Similar to ice-cream. So obviously it's not made for intoxication purposes. So why the different ruling?

No matter what technicalities one may come upon trying to prove that it is not haram, even if it doesn't intoxicate in bucket loads etc. It is still imitating the way of Non-Muslims. And Allah and His Prophet (saw)

has forbidden this!

The prophet clearly stated that it is forbidden to blindly imitate non-Muslims. In one hadeeth, he over emphasized how blindly some Muslims will imitate no matter how hard it may be. The prophet (saw)

said, "You will surely follow the ways, steps, or traditions of those who came before you, span by span and yard by yard (very closely) even if they entered into a lizard's hole you will enter it." The companions asked, "O prophet, you mean the Jews and Christians?" He replied, "Who else!?" [Reported by Imaam Bukhaari] In another hadeeth, he clearly prohibited imitation stating, "If one imitates another nation or people, he will be from them." [Reported by Imaam Abu-Daawud]

Prophet Muhammad (saw)

says: Verily and undoubtedly, there will appear people among my followers who will drink alcohol and call it by another name and women will sing and play stringed instruments above their heads. May Allah sink them under earth! And turn them into pigs and monkeys. (Nasai, Ashriba 41; Ibn Majah, Fitan, 22)

In another hadith, Prophet Muhammad (saw)

says: “From among my followers, there will be some people who will consider illegal sexual intercourse, the wearing of silk, the drinking of alcoholic drinks, and the use of musical instruments as lawful. And (from them), there will be some who will stay near the side of a mountain, and in the evening their shepherd will come to them with their sheep and ask them for something, but they will say to him, 'Return to us tomorrow.' Allah will destroy them during the night and will let the mountain fall on them, and Allah will transform the rest of them into monkeys and pigs and they will remain so till the Day of Resurrection” (Bukhari, Ashriba, 6; Abu Dawud, Libas, 6)

Today people are calling it Zero Alcohol even though there is some percentage of alcohol in it. Secondly, even if it was 0.000000% Alcohol; their bottles, packaging, aims and objectives are still the same and would most probably be called Haram by the Ulama anyway and they would have plenty of evidence to back them up.

So they went and made this with a name that should be taken as an insult to us!

They have called it Budweiser PROHIBITION Brew!

Seems like all they want to do is to make non drinkers and Muslims, just like them!

Basically anything with less than 0.5% alcohol is considered alcohol free!

Abu Mohammad, if you don't mind me saying, you've completely avoided the specific point I asked about and went off on a tangent talking about imitation of non-muslims. Some of our elders still today think that trousers, jeans, t-shirts, baseball caps etc. are imitation, so that aspect is subjective to say the least. Though maybe we can discuss that angle later though.

To go back to what I asked clarification about, what i've understood from yours and Muadh's posts is that such drinks which are not from grapes, dates, or barley are still HARAM because of these two factors:

1) Futile - they are consumed only for enjoyment purposes.

2) It intoxicates.

However, I pointed out that non-alcoholic drinks can't intoxicate just like ice-cream can't intoxicate even if you have bucket loads. So obviously these drinks are not made to intoxicate. Then why the different ruling?

About those Hadiths you brought up about people making alcohol halaal, you are aware aren't you that there are a few scholars who carelessly apply those Hadiths to all of us saying that Imam Abu Hanifah's fatwa was buried for the past thousand years and there was no necessity to dig out that fatwa just so that we can eat ice-cream, crisps, and chocolates when there's no shortage of other food available? So we should be careful about throwing around Hadiths like that.

Anyway please could you try looking into the specific point I'm asking about above.

Strength (ABV - Alcohol By Volume) x Volume (ml) / 1000 = Number of units
Source of calculation NHS (National Health Service UK)

So, as an example, a bottle of Beer is around 0.05% ABV:
0.05% ABV x 650ml divided by 1000 = 0.0325 of a unit

Some drinks say no alcohol due to the laws and they contain more than the above mentioned and calculated; 0.5% ABV, therefore, the calculation for those:
0.5% ABV x 650ml divided by 1000 = 0.325 of a unit
Alcohol is measured in units. Men who drink are advised to stay within 3 to 4 units in any one day. Women who drink are advised to stay within 2 to 3 units a day. And anyone who drinks is recommended to have 2 or 3 alcohol-free days a week!

If one was to drink say 50 bottles of 0.05%, his alcohol level would be 1.625 units.
If one was to drink say 50 bottles of 0.5%, his alcohol level would be 16.25 units.
Both of the above are considered Alcohol Free! How can one not get drunk?
One may argue that it is not possible to consume so much alcholol in one go, nevertheless, if it can intoxicate in large amounts, then even a small amount is Haram according to the Hadith in relation to intoxicating drinks (not carriers or food stuff that is permitted like vinegar etc. or those generated naturally from fruits that have not been made impermissable to eat/drink like oranges)

A healthy liver clears one unit of alcohol per hour, and you only get drunk when the liver can't keep up! So even a little amount can intoxicate eventually

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) recommend that you do not drink no-alcohol or low alcohol drinks as an alternative! WHY?

Ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said:"Every intoxicant is Khamr, and every intoxicant is prohibited." [Muslim]

2) Since the purpose of beer is intoxication, the small amount is also considered to be impermissible

قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏‏ كُلُّ مُسْكِرٍ حَرَامٌ مَا أَسْكَرَ الْفَرَقُ مِنْهُ فَمِلْءُ الْكَفِّ مِنْهُ حَرَامٌ ‏

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Every intoxicating substance is haram, and whatever intoxicates in large amounts, a handful of it is haram [Tirmidhi]

A good example of a non-alcoholic beer which is quite popular amongst Muslims is ginger beer which can have around 0.2% - 0.5% depending on the company.

Are you saying that ginger beer is actually 'made to intoxicate' or 'ginger beer is for intoxication' but ice cream is not? Please elaborate on this particular point.

Btw no need to insult and mock. Try have some Adab like Abu Mohammad has. I'm genuinely interested in knowing the exact reason why these drinks are Haram according to you guys.

Now one may say that these non alcohol beers are soft drinks too. But are they really?

Why aren't they advertised as soft drinks, why can't an underage person buying a can of Ginger Beer or Coke, go out and buy one of these cans?

Why do you need ID to purchase these stupid so-called Alcohol Free Beers? Maybe Alcoholic Anonymous can answer that very easily.

The aim of these beer companies is to stay in the market!
