W-Salam Aapa,

A few minor things:

  1. Hadha is used for masculine
  2. Hadhihi is used for feminine
  3. The word for watch is in vocabulary lesson 1, 2 & 3 :- )

Would it be possible for you to correct a few things considering points 1 & 2.

Jazakullah Khairun

Asslamo Allaikum,

  • If the noun is masculine everything in the sentence must be masculine
  • If the noun is feminine everything in the sentence must be feminine

Asslamo Allaikum Aapa,

The homework is designed to write and translate so the student can compare the sentences together each 3 word sentence has:

  1. Mubatada
  2. Badal
  3. Khabar

And its translated in a specific way. Can you spot that?

Assalaamu 'alaykum
I'm not exactly sure what you mean here...but i do understand that the translation is different according to the structure of the sentence i.e.
هذه غُرْفَةٌ
هذه الغُرْفَةُ
/size]

the first one is "this is a room" - a complete sentence
and the second one is "This room ...."- an incomplete sentence without the khabr

Now where badal is concerned, can i make sure i understood it? In the fol sentence:

[size=32] هذا الكِتابُ جديدٌ

the masjid is being pointed out as its described. Now if al kitaab is removed its still a complete sentence and since its a demonstrative pronoun we know its the masjid which is being talked about. So al kitaab is the substitute (badal).

Asslamo Allaikum,

Chapter teaches Badal and the teacher is suppsoed to tell about Badal. Your understanding is spot on i.e:

Hadhal-Baytu Jadeedun =

  1. Hadha is Mubtada
  2. Al-Baytu is Badal (matches Hadha in case, gender, being singular and definite)
  3. Jadeedun is Khabar

2 can be taken out and the meaning can still be conveyed.
