True, it's not like they're the ones who came here and caused chaos and labelled half the members on here deviants or mushriks.

I say keep it going. It was the whole soft and lenient attitude of this site (weakness I say) that allowed them to be such aggressive internet hooligans in the first place. Things like this will probably make them think twice about polluting the minds of simple people with their hatred

Points to be noted.

It's not salafi bashing.

The salafi are out on a rampage, we are only being defensive.

They have the ammunition, we are providing the shields.

The site gave them a chance to voice their arguments in a private section.

They came with glory and left in shame.

The site has handled it really well and deserves credit.

They came, they saw, they fled.

If our ulama are called jahmi, you can relax, we can't.

If our ulama are being accused of being out of the fold of Islam, you can relax, we can't.

If out members are threatened, you can relax, we can't.

The conclusion I had written is based on everything that has happened behind the scenes, on this site.

My question to you is, Who is the one bashing?

You are either with us or you're with them! And that's no joke.

It's your call.

I dont think it is Salafi Bashing nor is it a weakness from the site.

According to the Salafi, the major issue is to do with Aqeedah, therefore they are labelling people/ulama with those who they think are out of the fold of Islam.

Everyone needs to be clear with their Aqeedah as this is what decides the Akhirah. They dont need to discuss it withe everyone, they just need to know what is correct and what is not.

We follow the Aqeedah as taught by Imam Abu Ja'far at-Tahawi who compiled his work based on the Hanafi fiqh and cleared any accusation made upon Imam Abu Hanifa. However, the Salafi even find the Aqeedah of at-Tahawi to be incomplete. We are not scholars so how can we defend such accusations. We can only rely on the fact that these teachings have been around and accepted for a very very long time.

Fiqh is not much of an issue with them. I think we should be able to back our Madhab if countered with arguments.

The other issue is about Ulama who are being slandered and accused of being out of the fold of Islam.

I have personally heard accusations made on certain Ulama, and when I had asked these Ulama, they would deny it and show what their beliefs are, so in some cases, their statements are taken WAY out of context and labelled instantly. It is imporatant one knows that they are content with their school and why.

This is a major issue which people will take to heart. They need to know if those accusations are true or not. If they are not, then they need to know why and how to back them up.

Overall, I think it is defense of the Ulama and the Madhab.

I have heard with my own ears, Imam Abu Hanifa being called a Mur'ji. So to get to the bottom of it, one must investigate it and clear any misconceptions. We all know that he was human and could easily make errors, but the school is not just of Imam Abu Hanifa, it was an entire Shura at first and then many thousands of Ulama who have come and gone and given their views too. When a ruling was noted, it was agreed with by others too, so had he made a mistake, there were other Muhaddith and Fuqaha who would have corrected it. The chance of an error within the school would be almost zero.

I think the whole point of these threads are in defense of the Hanafi school and its ulama. The titles are only given for attraction as it indicates which perspective we are looking at it from.

Even Usama Bin Laden has been labelled, no one is left with a clean sheet.

Let Allah Decide!!!!

In the mean time, others should know how to back their school if they think it is Sahih.

RIYADH: Crown Prince Naif, deputy premier and ministerof interior, opened a symposium on "Salafism: A Shariah approach and a national demand," organized by the Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University here Tuesday and commended its objectives.

Prince Naif said Saudi Arabia would continue to follow the Salafist ideology and denounced those who create doubts about this moderate Islamic ideology and link it with terrorism and extremism.

"Salafism is rooted in the Qur'an and Sunnah and calls for peaceful coexistence with other faith communities and for respecting their rights," the crown prince said. "We have to stand united against those who launch smear campaigns on Salafism."

He also laid the cornerstone for a number of educational projects worth SR2.3 billion at the university.

Suleiman Abalkhail, president of the university, thanked Prince Naif for opening the event.

"The Kingdom is based on the moderate Salafi ideology," he said, adding that the Saudi government has been following the teachings of Islam in all its affairs and relations.

He said more than 100 religious experts from around the world would take part in the symposium to discuss 120 research papers on seven core subjects.

This seminar aims to achieve several goals such as shedding light on the doctrinal teachings of the Salafist movement, clear misconceptions about Salafism, clarify theroots of Saudi government regulations and its rightful principles and lastly provide a clear idea about Islam's approach toward non-Muslims.

The core subjects include Salafism, an approach pursued by the state since its foundation and its connection to Islam; misconceptions about the Salafi approach; the Salafi approach and its connection with the modern religious discourse, the relationship between the Saudi stateand the Salafi approach in terms of originality and application; and the link between the Salafi approach and school curricula.
