So, there's no doubt that there're fabricated Ahadith in Fadhail e Amaal?
why do some scholars say that there's nothing wrong in taking such statements as Ahadith?
Those who don't know which ahadith are fabricated & which are not in Fadhail e Amaal, wouldn't it be sin if they read it, something which is made up and not actually the words of rasulullah sallalahu alaihi wasallam?

A common comment made against Fazail-e-A'mal is that some of the narrations mentioned in it are weak and fabricated. This comment is not totally correct, as there are no fabricated narrations in this book. There are dha'eef (weak) narrations in Fazail-e-A'mal. However, it is important to point out that the word dha'eef, literally translated as 'weak', is a terminology and should not be understood in its general sense. Its application is based on the rules explained in the sciences of hadith. Moreover, weak narrations are not acceptable only in regards to aqeedah and the rulings of Islamic jurisprudence. Majority of the scholars have accepted weak narrations as far as virtues of good deeds are concerned. Even Imam Bukhari (Rahimahullah) has brought weak narrations in his book, Al Adabul Mufrad, which shows that he also accepts weak narrations in regards to virtues of good deeds.

[quote=Mufti Husain on sunniforum]Some Ulama are of the view that none of the ahadith in there are mawdu'.
They would therefore interpret someone saying that it does contain ahadith that are fabricated, as meaning that while they are fabricated according to that person, they are simply weak according to there Ulama.

You will find fabricated or extremly weak ahadith in nearly every hadith book. It isn't something peculiar to Fadhail A'mal.
Yes, due to this book being so famous, it is in the limelight more than others.

Hadhrat Shaykh did not mention ahadith that he knew to be fabricated.
They are either ahadith which the muhaddithin differed upon, with Hadhrat Shaykh adopted the view of those who found them to be acceptable,
or the Hadith books containing their chains where not published, thus Hadhrat Shaykh was unable to verify their authenticity himself and had to rely on other senior Muhaddithin who mentioned these narrations in their books without objecting to them.

The criticism against Fazail E Amail is baseless by some of these hardcore Salafis considering there are many books of Islam out there which, contain weak narrations and stories taken by other scholars and sources. Whether you choose to accept some of the interpreations from some the weak narrations is down to individual opinion.

Personally, I'm more comfortable and secure taking from authentic narrations considering there are plenty of them out there even if it's regarding fahdail topics.

Sister,

  1. There are weak/(possibly) fabricated Ahadeeth in Sunan Ibn Majah (RA) and other books
  2. There are weak/(possibly) fabricated Ahadeeth in Al-Adab Al-Mufrad of Imam Bukhari (RA)

So what will be done now? Its no big deal really

Jzk

Imam bukhari rahmat
hadeeth is considered to b one of the most authentic ahadeeth has written a book in the name of adab al mufrad that contains weak/fabricated ahadeeth as well... Now what? Will we stop giving references frm sahih bukhari just bcos hes written a book with a few collection of weak ahadeeth? scholars r in the opinion that weak hadith can b used in showing virtues (Fazail) but not be used in giving rulings (masail). Allah knows better.
