Imam Muhammad رحمه الله said:

"We adhere to this; there is no harm in praying in the resting place of sheep though their urine and dung be in there. Those creatures whose meat is eaten, there is no harm in their urine."

182. Imam Malik رحمه الله informed us: "Zayd Ibn Aslam رحمه الله informed us from 'Ataa' Ibn Yasaar رحمه الله from 'Abdullah as-Sunabihi رضي الله عنه that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, 'When the sun rises, the horn of shaytan is with it. Then when it has risen, the horn seperates from it. Then later when it is at the zenith, it is accompanied by it. But when it moves away from the zenith it seperates from it. Then later when it approaches setting, it is accompanied by it. And when it sets it seperates from it.'" He said, "The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم forbade salaah (prayer) at these times."

183. Imam Malik رحمه الله informed us: "'Abdullah Ibn Dinar رحمه الله informed me saying, ' 'Abdullah Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهما used to say, "'Umar Ibn al-Khattab رضي الله عنه used to say, 'Do not intend to do your prayer at the rising of the sun nor at its setting, because shaytan's two horns rise with its raising and set with its setting,' and he used to strike people to prevent them from doing such a prayer."'"

53. Praying In Intense Heat

184. Imam Malik رحمه الله informed us: " 'Abdullah Ibn Yazeed رحمه الله, the mawla of al-Aswad Ibn Sufyan رحمه الله, informed me from Abu Salamah Ibn 'Abdur Rahman رحمه الله and from Muhammad Ibn 'Abdur Rahman Ibn Thawban رحمه الله from Abu Hurayrah رضي الله عنه, that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, 'When the heat is great, then let it cool down before praying, for the intensity of the heat is from the vehement raging of the hear of Jahannam,' and he mentioned that the Fire complained to its Lord سبحانه و تعالى, so He allowed it two breaths in each year; a breath in winter and breath in summer."

54. A Man Who Forgets The Prayer Or Misses Its Time

185. Imam Malik رحمه الله informed us: "Ibn Shihab رحمه الله informed us from Sa'eed Ibn al-Musayyab رحمه الله, that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم headed back from Khaybar, travelling at night, until when it was towards the end of the night he made camp and said to Bilal رضي الله عنه, 'Keep watch for the dawn for us.'

So the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم and his Companions رضي الله عنهم slept, and Bilal رضي الله عنه kept watch as long as was decreed for him and then leaned against his camel, facing in the direction of the dawn, and sleep overcame him.

Neither the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم, nor Bilal رضي الله عنه, nor anyone of the company awoke until the sun struck them. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم started and said, 'Bilal!' and Bilal رضي الله عنه said, 'Messenger of Allah, He Who took your self took my self.' [The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم] said, 'Lead on.'

So they roused their mounts and led them on somewhat and then the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم ordered Bilal رضي الله عنه to announce the Iqaama for the prayer and he prayed the dawn prayer with them. Then he said, when he had concluded the prayer, 'Whoever forgets a prayer, let him pray when he remembers it, for Allah سبحانه و تعالى says:

"And establish prayer for My remembrance." (20:14)

"We adhere to this, except in the case when he remembers it in the time in which the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم prohibited prayer - when the sun appears until it ascends and whitens, or the middle of the day until it moves away from its zenith, or when the sun reddens until it disappears - unless it be [the prayer of] 'Asr of that same day, in which case he should pray it before the sun sets, even though it had reddened. That is the verdict of Imam Abu Hanifa, may Allah have mercy on him."

55. Prayer On A Rainy Night, And The Special Merit Of The Congregation [Jamaa'ah]

187. Imam Malik رحمه الله informed us: "Naafi' رحمه الله informed us from Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنهما, that he called [the Adhaan] for the prayer on a journey, on a cold and windy night, and then said, 'Do the prayer in your dwellings.' Then he said, 'The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم would, when it was a cold and rainy night, order the Mu'adhdhin to say, "Do the prayer in your dwellings."'"
