Alhamdulillah I have now relocated to the middle east, Qatart, Doha.
I have noticed many things here for instance
Many of the arab brothers dont read their Sunnahs, its like it doesnt exist...... has anyone else experienced this?
Also the azan for jumma is done bang on the starting time for Zuhr, well a few minutes after, and then the khuthba starts. During which time I quickly read my 4 Sunnahs.
Anyone experience some thing similar to this before?
Jazakallah, I never meant to say they dont pray at all but i have queried this with a few locals and the genral response is, I dont know why we dont pray. Obviously at this poing I try to give them a Little dawah to the benefits, with out making them feel incompetant. (as arabs generally dont like to be told what to do)
The problem is that the time for Zuhr has not begun. for example, if it starts at 11.30am then the khateeb and muazzin come in around 11.35ish. any time before that would be makhrooh time.
There are some opinions regarding the start time of Jummah, majority say it starts after zawal, a few say the adhan can.be given before zawal, Infact some.even start the khutbah before zawal, even here in London.
As an engineer, I am out on jobs all over London so I do Jummah where I am and I have seen this happen many times. Infact, I was doing a job at a Qatari mosque in central London, they had given the adhan, many people prayed their sunnats, and then the khutbah started as soon as zohar time started.
By the looks of it they do it according to the local countries habits. For example we have a set zuhr time in the UK of either 1pm or 1.30 ish, give and take a little. Im assuming in the Qatari masjid in London jumma was at 1pm or 1.30pm and not like here in Qatar, at the time of the start time for Zuhr.
And here they do the azan as soon as the time starts for any given salah.
For example fajr starts at about 3.55, so azan is completed immediately and jammat is 20 minutes after. Only maghrib jamaat is 5 minutes after azan for obvious reasons.
This particular mosque gave adhan before zohar time started and the khutbah and second adhan was around 12:45 and this was in summer time. Although zawal time only lasts a short period, the adhan was too early.
I know the muazin of the mosque very well, inshaAllah I will ask him oneday. Mind you, everybody prayed all the sunnah.
This cannot be undone and I am sure it will be greatly appreciated.
