Asslamo Allaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
Refuting Baatil is specialised skill and there are some Ulama who excel in this matter and are much better than the other.
Two of the great Deobandi Ulama of our time who were experts in this matter were:
- Shaykh (Mufti) Yusuf Ludhyanwi Shaheed (RA)
- Shaykh (Maulana) Muhammad Sarfaraz Khan Safdar (RA)
So why caused them to be so great and influential and responsible for changing the hearts and minds of thousands and for people to accept Haq.
Firstly, the immense and in-depth knowledge of Qur’aan & Sunnah
Secondly, immense and in-depth knowledge of the controversies
Thirdly, pin point refutations after listing the accusation and not general replies
Fourthly, dealing with the issues rather than getting personal or emotional about the matter.
Another example is in the book “Bawadirun-Nawadir” which is the last book of Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) with a great discussion and refutation on Aqeedah of the Ahl-e-Hadeeth, being discussed on Sunniforum at the moment:

Rather than the issue its more important to note that Shaykh (Maulana) Ashraf Ali Thanwi (RA) writes, “Your behaviour left some ill feelings in my heart so I didn’t reply earlier lest my feelings/emotions would come in the way. I have now checked my heart and thus decided to reply....”
Consider these words!
The point of this thread is to request brothers to ADOPT pin-point and accurate refutations rather than general articles, i.e.
- Learn the argument of the Salafees/Ahl-e-Hadeeth
- Form a team and write a specific response and have it checked by Ulama-e-Kiraam
- Post and reply to counter accusations
General refutations are good but sometimes not effective.
