One minister was on a visit to sanatorium for mentally retarded patients.
He saw a person is trying to listen from a pillar.
After a long inspection he returned and saw the person continues to be stuck to pillar.
The minister copied the same thing, trying to listen from pillar. He didn't hear anything. Minister told that person, I am not hearing anything.
The man shouted, "for hours I didn't hear anything and you want to hear in seconds. "

Salafees are busy with RE-SEARCH, we too got involved in RE-SEARCH.
Nothing to RE-SEARCH, 1300 years amal e Mutawatir is authentic proof for us. Imam Abu Hanifah RA research is final for us.

Loading Qur'aan Verse

As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them].

The Zahiri school of thought has always existed, and their opinions have always been a minority opinion. The beauty of Islam is that differences of opinion allow Muslims of different temperaments and sociological, political and geographical circumstances to live their lives by the commandments of Allah Taala. There is clear consensus about things that are explicitly forbidden, and if a person strives to protect himself from these, he can expect Favor and Mercy from Allah Taala, both here and in the Akhirah.

I quote from Majmoo a fatawah by Imam Timiyah RA.

Summarised.

  • A person can either be a Mujtahid or a muqallid.
  • If we opt for taqleed, it is recommended to do taqleed of Aslaaf of the first centuries.
  • Definitely, Aslaaf are much much better than scholars of the present century.

brother, the zahiri school is also muqallid, except they refer to their taqleed as ittiba. It is only a question of semantics. They continue to be part of ahlus sunnah.

i love the guidance of our akabir in this matter -- "apna maslak chhoro math, doosron ka maslak chhero math." loosely translated it means "don't compromise on your own maslak, and don't interfere in others' maslak."

i also just want to express my admiration at the all round etidal (moderation) in your temperament as evidenced in the Maulana Saad Sb thread, among others. your posts are a breath of fresh air in this vitiated atmosphere and my admiration and respect for you has only gone up over the time I've had the pleasure to interact with you.
