I once heard of an Alim spending much time on finding the narration on the Buraq and if or where the Prophet (saw) had tied it to something, or sometihng along those lines.

Great minds wish to go deep. But in some cases we have to suffice with the simple fact that we may never know in this Dunya.

But lets all please keep this thread tidy and stick to the topic, JazakAllah.

It is a genuine question. If Muadh produces something from Shaykh Ashraf Ali Thanwi, great. Otherwise we can split the thread and start fresh.

Edit will be declined for now.

Edit went through somehow.

Anyway, just in reference to the Arsh. There is something that I do know.

It comes from one of the most beautiful Hadith I've ever heard, one of my favourites.

It is the Hadith of the Green birds. From this we know that there is a Chandelier beneath the Arsh of Allah :)

Your kindness is appreciated but my request was only about some authentic references, and I thought Muad khan might be in possession of such knowledge.Starting a thread on the topic and discussing it in public may prove more harmful than doing any good.May Allah swt make it beneficial for us. Amin

I understand and know full well what you mean. However, inshaAllah the posts in this thread will not be up for debate because we are all of the same Aqeedah.

Therefore, this thread may prove to be a blessing in disguise for those who wish to seek answers and clarity, especially those who encounter Ghair Muqallids.

This thread will aslo move to The True Salaf section.

In the book of Allah Ta’ala there are verses which are Mutashabihat (i.e. ambiguous) and there are verses which are Muhkamaat (i.e. clear and precise). We are advised to affirm our belief in Mutashabihat (i.e. ambiguous) verses and stick to Muhkamaat (i.e. clear and precise) verses.

Loading Qur'aan Verse

[3:7] It is He who has sent down to you, [O Muhammad], the Book; in it are verses [that are] precise - they are the foundation of the Book - and others unspecific. As for those in whose hearts is deviation [from truth], they will follow that of it which is unspecific, seeking discord and seeking an interpretation [suitable to them]. And no one knows its [true] interpretation except Allah . But those firm in knowledge say, "We believe in it. All [of it] is from our Lord." And no one will be reminded except those of understanding.

Since we follow the Aqeedah of the Salaf, affirm your belief in all verses of the Qur’aan and move on.

If we need to refute heretical views then we will dip into the Ashari/Maturidi Ta’weel (interpretation) and refute the objections of the enemies of the Sunnah.

Since you are a Muslim of sound judgement and mind (Masha’Allah), you don’t need to worry about this Insha’Allah. For you:

  1. KNOW that Allah Ta’ala is Mustawi upon the Arsh
  2. HOW Allah Ta’ala is Mustawi and WHAT does the Arsh look like etc is not your concern.

If someone is definitely bothered then I would take their questions to someone like (Maulana) Yusuf Al-Canadi Makki (HA) who in (my uniformed opinion) is an authority on Maturidi Aqeedah inb our time. Maulana has flown to Pakistan and given lectures and answered question at special invitation...

Maulana (HA) out of his love, let me read his book and it went over my head!!! So I gave up!

I am an absolute and complete ignoramus on Ashari/Maturidi Aqeedah but through interactions also know that many of the Ulama are not much better and they are also clueless...

So for you, drop the issue :P

It has a shadow, correct. But if it hasn't been called a physical Arsh, then safer to leave it as unknown otherwise it could be leading to Kufr, but if it has been described as a solid object, then thats another case. However, I doubt it!

We know that things hang off of it and that birds fly under it. But still better to leave the description to solid evidence. Allahu alum, that's just my thought.
