There was a discussion by a Barelwi scholar where someone had asked why they carry flags for the Milad and go out in processions (Juloos) like the way the Shia do.

He answered saying the Jibreel came down to with flags when He (saw) was born and that a procession of angels marched on the birth of Muhammad (saw)

He also mentioned that the flags came down on three different locations.

The talk was from a TV channel shared on What's App by it's users so I'll try and find it on YouTube and post the talk itself.

Anyone came across these narrations? Even if they are authentic, it doesn't mean we would have to do this, but it would be interesting to find out so we know where we stand.

Can Muadh (or anyone else) please share the link of the inventor of the Juloos from Pakistan. I remember a post by Muadh with the name and address on a plaque outside of the inventors house.

JazakAllah

Brealwis are basically shia. They had a jaloos in walthamstow yday ( first of 3) and what bothers me is they say takbir once, naare risaalat once but naare haidri 3 times which gets the most largest response of ya ali . They even made a big scene at babul salaam yday in masjis nabawi singing naats and bein a nuisance. I got vid someone sent via whatsapp.

Ps not to derail ur thread but i brealwi i went to school with used to say there is hadith of jaabir رضي الله عنه who narrates ' we used to march around madinah on prophets bday'. Anyone knw if this hadith exists?

Subject:Milad And Flags

Hadith Question & Answer below:

Quote:
AsSalaamu Alaykum.
Unfortunately I have to bear with much of the Bida'h performed by the Barelwi and before I commit myself to believing firmly that something is wrong, I would like to get clarity on it.

I heard in A barelwi talk that the evidence for bringing out flags on the day our Prophet (saw) was born, the angels came down with flags and placed them in 3 different locations, "Three flags I saw them bring down from Heaven: one they planted in the ground in the east, one in the west and one right atop the Kaba." Allegedly narrated by the mother of the Prophet (saw)

JazakAllahu Khairan

We are unable to locate this Hadith in any authentic Hadith book.
One should be cautious and abstain from quoting a Hadith (like the one in question) when the Hadith is untraceable in any original Hadith source, until its authenticity can be verified.

And Allah Ta'ala Knows best
